Abstract:
The present invention provides a door opening assist device comprising a compression spring and piston retainably housed in a bind ended longitudinal bore formed in an externally threaded cylindrical housing. The spring and piston are held in cooperative engagement between a retaining nut and the blind end. The piston has a single protuberance extending normally from it's surface that resides in and travels about a spiral groove formed in the housing. The spiral groove has a series of detents, one of which can be selected to trap the protuberance and stop the spinning piston as it travels along the housing bore. The door opening assist device is installed in a door frame of an automobile to push the door open a distance determined by the detent selected. Upon closing the door, the door abuts and retracts the piston into the housing compressing the spring. Upon unlatching the door, the piston extends under spring bias in such a direction and with sufficient force to push the door to an open position a predetermined distance. The door opening assist device provides various mounting options through the use of a jam nut and a mounting plate.
Abstract:
An actuating arrangement and method for opening and closing a hinged motor vehicle panel utilizes a controllable fluid drive and an uncontrolled fluid drive. The hinged motor vehicle panel is driven during opening from a starting position to a predetermined opening angle by the controlled fluid drive and, after reaching the predetermined angle of opening, is driven into its final position exclusively by the uncontrolled fluid drive.
Abstract:
A hinge for a vehicle lid includes a main biasing element operable to urge the hinge into an open position, and a mechanism for assisting the initial opening of the hinge from a closed position. The mechanism includes a rotary cam engagable with another portion of the hinge to provide assistance, and a further biasing element which acts on the cam to rotate it relative to the other portion of the hinge. A lifting aid includes a main biasing element for attachment between a lid and a body, which lid is pivotally moveable towards and away from the body. The main biasing element is operable to urge the lid from a closed position relative to the body to an open position. The lifting aid further has a cam attachable to the body for relative rotation thereto and a further biasing element for attachment between the body and the cam and operable to rotate the cam relative to the body and lid. The cam is operable to assist the initial opening of the lid.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly includes a damping unit mounted on a securing seat that is connected to a door frame, a housing embedded in a door panel, and a hinge member and a positioning member interconnecting the securing seat and the housing. The damping unit includes a fluid cylinder and a piston rod having an actuating end pivoted to the positioning member. Due to the presence of the damping unit, movement of the door panel relative to the door frame can be damped.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a multi-link hinge for furniture, with a fastening element which can be secured indirectly or directly to a furniture body and is connected to a pivotable door bearing via a plurality of link levers connected to one another in a scissors-like manner, wherein a linear damper which damps both a closing movement and an opening movement of the door bearing is provided. The multi-link hinge is distinguished in that the linear damper is ineffective in a central portion of the pivoting range of the door bearing.
Abstract:
Techniques for performing calibration and beamforming in a wireless communication system are described. In an aspect, a Node B may periodically perform calibration in each calibration interval with a set of UEs to obtain a calibration vector for the Node B. The Node B may apply the calibration vector to account for mismatches in the responses of the transmit and receive chains at the Node B. In another aspect, the Node B may perform beamforming to a UE by taking into account gain imbalance for multiple antennas at the UE. The Node B may determine a precoding matrix for beamforming by taking into account gain imbalance due to (i) different automatic gain control (AGC) gains for receive chains at the UE, (ii) different power amplifier (PA) gains for transmit chains at the UE, and/or (iii) different antenna gains for multiple antennas at the UE.
Abstract:
A snap hinge with damped closure is provided, including a first articulated quadrilateral and a second articulated quadrilateral which share a first lever and a second lever and are provided respectively with a plate for coupling to a first element and with a plate for fixing to a second element. The hinge is movable alternately between an open configuration and a closed configuration, in which the plates have different arrangements with respect to each other. At least one damping element is interposed at least between the first quadrilateral and the coupling plate or between the second quadrilateral and the fixing plate for damped transition from the open configuration to the closed configuration or vice versa.
Abstract:
An apparatus for controlling the motion of a top-hung sliding door. The apparatus has a biasing member, a door engagement member coupled to the biasing member for releasably engaging a flange extending from a door hanger from which the sliding door is supported, and a body defining a path for the door engagement member. A first end of the path is configured such that the door engagement member may be releasably retained at the first end of the path, whereby when the door engagement member is retained at the first end of the path and the door engagement member is contacted by the flange: the door engagement member is configured to engage the flange, and the biasing member is configured to extend and move the door engagement member to a second end of the path.
Abstract:
A piece of furniture has an actuating arrangement for a flap of the piece of furniture. An actuating arm arrangement includes a lever arrangement for moving the flap and a main spring that acts in the closing direction (SR) to hold the flap closed. The piece of furniture also has an ejecting device for ejecting the flap in the opening direction (OR) by overpressing the flap in the closing direction (SR). At least one support spring acts in the opening direction (OR) and is separate from the ejecting device, and supports the ejecting motion of the ejecting device. At least in an overpressed closed position (US), the spring forces (A, U) are together greater than the closing force (Z) which acts on the flap and which is provided by the main spring acting in the closing direction (SR).
