Abstract:
A particular device may configure one or more of other devices to accept and execute remote control commands from the particular device's remote control unit. This may be performed via one or more various communication links between the devices on that enables the devices to communicate with each other. For example, the remote control of a set-top box can be used to control both the set-top box and a television without a user having to specially program the set-top box or other universal remote control. One example of a communication link between the devices that enables the devices to communicate with each other is a device-to-device messaging protocol such as that provided by the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) standard.
Abstract:
Provided is an image display apparatus including: an interface unit through which a pointing signal is received from an external input device; and a display unit that includes a first region and a second region which are distinguishable from each other and on any one of which an image object of which a function is activated by the pointing signal is displayed; and a controller that activates an application corresponding to a predetermined pattern, when in a state where a content screen is output to the first and second regions of the display unit, the image object that is displayed according to the pointing signal moves in the predetermined pattern, in which while maintaining the outputting of the content screen, the controller performs control in such a manner that a control screen for an external apparatus, which corresponds to the activation of the application, is output to the second region.
Abstract:
A set top/back box and system and method for providing a remote control device are disclosed. In one embodiment, one or more wireless transceivers are located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes television input/output, a processor, and memory. The set top/back box may establish a pairing with a programmable device, such as a proximate wireless-enabled interactive handheld device having a touch screen display, whereby formatted parallel audiovisual experience instructions, including virtual buttons, may be transmitted to the programmable device for display on the touch screen display to create an experience parallel to the experience on the television. The set top/back box receives and processes virtual remote control functionality input instructions from the programmable device to control amenities associated with the set top/back box.
Abstract:
A system may include a left ear piece comprising an ear piece housing, a short range transceiver disposed within the ear piece housing, at least one input sensor disposed within the ear piece housing, a speaker disposed within the ear piece housing and a right ear piece comprising an ear piece housing, a short range transceiver disposed within the ear piece housing, at least one input sensor disposed within the ear piece housing, a speaker disposed within the ear piece housing. The system may be adapted to play stereophonic audio using the left ear piece and the right ear piece.
Abstract:
One or more embodiments of providing a content driven interface are provided herein. A storage component may house one or more programming data portions. Respective programming data portions may be associated with programming data for one or more time intervals, program names, and corresponding source content provider information. A display component may render one or more program suggestions based on a current time and one or more of the programming data portions. Respective program suggestions may be rendered based such that corresponding source content provider information is hidden. A management component may determine the current time and receive a user selection of a program suggestion of the one or more program suggestions. A communication component may transmit one or more signals based on the user selection of the program suggestion and corresponding source content provider information.
Abstract:
A universal remote control device and methods for controlling multiple devices with a universal remote control device are provided. The method includes receiving a boot completed notification from a control unit of the universal remote control device and displaying a troubleshooting icon on a display of the universal remote control device. Upon receiving a user input selecting the troubleshooting icon, the method includes generating a power user interface menu enabling discrete control of power for each device controlled by the universal remote control device. The power user interface menu is displayed on a least a portion of the display of the universal remote control device.
Abstract:
A method and system for applying over the air updates to a universal remote control device. The method and system include determining a group associated with the universal remote control based on a remote profile stored on at least one of: a memory of the universal remote control device, and a universal remote database hosted on an external server infrastructure. The method and system also include determining an over the air update that is applicable to the universal remote control device based on the group that is associated with the universal remote control device. The method and system additionally include determining a power level of a battery of the universal remote control device. The method and system further include applying the over the air update that is applicable to the universal remote control device based on the power level of the battery of the universal remote control device.
Abstract:
An apparatus in accordance with the invention includes a motor and a gearbox coupled to the motor and configured to actuate a window covering. The gearbox includes an internal wall enclosing gears of the gearbox, and an external wall enclosing the internal wall and creating a cavity between the internal wall and the external wall. The external wall is configured to support an output shaft extending from the internal wall. A corresponding method is also disclosed herein.
Abstract:
A remote control device may include: first circuitry to control a function of a first electronic device; second circuitry to be set to control a function of a second electronic device; and a setup controller to set the second circuitry to control a function of a target electronic device based on a code received from a separate device. An electronic device to be controlled by a remote control device may include: an input device to receive a signal from the remote control device; an output device to send a signal to the remote control device; and a processor coupled to the input and output devices, and configured to access a database of codes and to selectively provide codes from the database to the remote control device, the codes configured to set circuitry of the remote control device to control a function of the electronic device and/or an auxiliary electronic device.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for modifying a carrier frequency for a trainable transmitter may include receiving a request to transmit a control signal from the trainable transmitter to a receiver. A transmission of a first control signal may be made using a trained carrier frequency and a control data. At least part of the carrier frequency may be shifted by a frequency increment. A second control signal may then be generated using the carrier frequency shifted by the frequency increment and the control data. The second control signal may then be transmitted.
