Abstract:
A metal conductive film is provided on the outer surface of the rear substrate of a display panel for both shielding EM fields and helping to dissipate heat generated by the panel.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel(PDP) is disclosed. The PDP includes a rear plate, a front plate spaced apart and positioned in parallel with the rear plate, and a plurality of barrier ribs positioned in the space between the rear plate and the front plate to define a plurality of discharge space groups. Each discharge space group includes a first discharge space, a second discharge space, and a third discharge space. Each discharge space is filled with the different discharge gases including a first, a second, and a third discharge gas for respectively emitting of one of three primary colors. The rear plate of the PDP has a reflecting layer to reflect the light and prevent the light from penetrating through the rear plate so as to increase the luminescent efficiency of the PDP.
Abstract:
In a display panel, the luminance and contrast are improved by making a partition semitransparent, which is a constituent element adjacent to a light-emitting section. A visible light incident on the partition proceeds inside the partition while being attenuated at a constant rate. When an external light incident on the partition from the front side is reflected off the bottom surface of the partition and returns to the front side again, the external light reciprocates inside the partition. Since the external light is largely attenuated by the reciprocation, the partition seemingly functions as an optical absorber with respect to the external light. A light emitted by the light-emitting section can transmit through the partition and radiate to the outside from the front side.
Abstract:
In a plasma display device comprising a pair of opposing insulating substrates and a plurality of light emitting cells 5 formed from partition walls which divide the space between the insulating substrates while a plurality of electrodes are formed in the light emitting cells 5 and the inner space is filled with a discharge gas and plasma being generated by applying a voltage selectively between the electrodes so that the fluorescent substances 4 formed on the inner walls of the light emitting cells emit light as light emitting elements, wherein sizes of the light emitting cells 5 of different colors are made different according to the luminance of the fluorescent substance of the corresponding color. That is, cells which emit light of a color of luminance lower than the other cells are made with larger opening to obtain equally high luminance for all the three primary colors, thereby mitigating the deviation in the luminance among the fluorescent substances and achieving full-color display of high image quality with high color purity.
Abstract:
Plasma channels in a PALC display have a minimal width, which implies that substantially all light passes via optically planar surfaces so that depolarization is prevented. The small width also enhances the extinction rate of the plasma so that less critical gas mixtures may be used. In a specific embodiment, the microsheet may be dispensed with.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel including a partition wall (35) arranged between a front substrate (10) and a back substrate (13), and having vertical walls (35a) extending in the column direction and transverse walls (35b) extending in the row direction to define a discharge space (S) into each discharge cell (C) in the row direction and the column direction. A clearance (SL) extending in parallel to the row direction divides the transverse wall (35b) situated between the adjacent discharge cells (c) respectively in the column direction to each other. A groove (11Aa) formed in the additional dielectric layer (11A) makes communication between the inside of the clearance (SL) and the inside of the adjacent discharge cells (C) in the column direction.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel is provided in which a reliability of addressing is ensured, a flicker is reduced and the area that a cross talk can spread in the column direction is decreased so that a fluctuation of the display can be reduced. The plasma display panel has a first display electrode and a second display electrode that make an electrode pair for surface discharge. The first and the second display electrodes share one electrode for display of neighboring two rows. A partition is provided that divides a discharge gas space in the column direction only in the area where the first display electrode that is not used as a scanning electrode is positioned.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel is disclosed, which prevents luminance from being reduced, prevents error discharge from occurring due to crosstalk, and improves exhaust ability. Auxiliary barriers or projections are formed in a boundary portion between respective cells in a stripe type barrier structure. Alternatively, a predetermined groove is formed in a predetermined position of a dielectric layer in a lattice shaped barrier structure. In addition to these barriers, second barriers are formed at a greater width or at constant intervals. Thus, exhaust ability can be improved, and error discharge due to crosstalk can be prevented from occurring. Also, luminance in corner portions of the cell can be improved, and contrast can be improved even if a black matrix is not formed.
Abstract:
An AC-driven surface discharge plasma display panel (AC-PDP) includes a pair of substrates that face each other and define a discharge space therebetween, a pair of electrodes for each display line formed on an inner surface of one of the two substrates such that the electrodes face each other and define a discharge gap therebetween, each of the electrodes having minute openings, and a dielectric layer covering the electrodes. The panel has enhanced emission efficiency properties that do not suffer from deterioration.
Abstract:
A plasma display comprises a front panel, a rear panel, and, arranged therebetween, a number of gas-containing plasma cells separated from each other by partitions. The plasma cells each comprise a plasma region between two discharge electrodes and means arranged between the discharge electrodes for locally substantially narrowing the plasma region.
