    Abstract: An imaging system may include: a first light source configured to emit a first source spectrum of collimated light; a second light source configured to emit a second source spectrum of light; a probe head configured to direct the first source spectrum and the second source spectrum toward tissue in an oral cavity and to collect a first feedback spectrum of light and a second feedback spectrum of light; an interferometry sub-system to generate an optical feedback signal using the first source spectrum; at least one optical sensor array for receiving the optical feedback signal and the second feedback spectrum; and at least one programmable processor to generate: a first diagnostic image of the tissue using the optical feedback signal; a second diagnostic image of the tissue using the second feedback spectrum; and a third diagnostic image from a combination of the first diagnostic image and the second diagnostic image.

    Abstract: An oral care implement (100) including a head portion (120) that extends from a proximal end (121) to a distal edge (122) along a longitudinal axis (A-A). The head portion (120) may be formed of a cellulosic material such as a wood material or a bamboo material having a longitudinal grain direction. The head portion (120) may include a plurality of tuft holes (130) such that a bristle tuft (151) is anchored to the head portion (120) within each of the tuft holes (130) by an anchor (200). The anchors (200) may extend along an anchor axis that is oblique to the longitudinal axis (A-A). The bristle tufts (151) may include perimeter bristle tufts (153,154) located within perimeter tuft holes (140) that are adjacent to a perimeter (128) or peripheral edge (126,127) of the head portion (120). The perimeter tuft holes (140) may be located at least 1.80 mm from the perimeter (128) of the head portion (120).

    Abstract: Film forming compositions and methods for preventing stains and increasing shine and gloss of teeth. The film forming compositions may include a polymer, such as a hydrophobic polymer, and an orally acceptable solvent. The hydrophobic polymer may include an acrylate component and a hydrophobic group coupled with one another. The hydrophobic group may include an alkyl chain, a polyethylene glycol, a polypropylene, a polyester, a polyorthoester, a phospholipid, a long chain fatty acid, a vinyl chloride, fluorethylene, a siloxane, a urethane, an octylacrylamide, a butylaminoethyl, a styrene, and combinations thereof.

    Abstract: This application provides, among other things, oral care compositions where the addition of a stabilizing amount of a nonionic gelling and thickening agent, (e.g., hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC)) and an effective amount of a zwitterionic surfactant (e.g., a betaine zwitterionic surfactant) (e.g., cocamidopropyl betaine), to formulations comprising a bisbiguanide (e.g., chlorhexidine (CHX)) agent, and optionally an effective amount of abrasive silica, allows for proper structure and consistency to the formulation and to allow it to be used as a gel or a toothpaste to facility delivery of chlorhexidine, among other actives, to the teeth or gums with acceptable stability and foaming.
