    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes an optical modulation element configured to emit image light corresponding to an image by using illumination light from an illumination device, a polarization control element configured to emit first polarized light, and second polarized light on the basis of the image light receiving from the optical modulation element, a polarization separation element configured to transmit the first polarized light as transmitted light and reflect the second polarized light as reflected light, and a projector configured to project the transmitted light onto a first projection area of a projection plane, and projects reflected light onto a second projection area of the projection plane.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes: a controller; and a pixel including: first to fourth sub-pixels including respective first to fourth color filters transmitting light having respective spectrum peaks falling on a spectrum of reddish green, a spectrum of bluish green, a spectrum of red, and a spectrum of blue, respectively. The first to fourth sub-pixels each include a reflective electrode reflecting light transmitted through the color filter. The first to fourth sub-pixels are each divided into sub-divided pixels having different areas to perform multiple gradation expression through a combination of whether each of the sub-divided pixels reflects light. The controller stores patterns of combinations of whether each of the sub-divided pixels reflects light according to an input signal, and controls operations of the sub-divided pixels through use of any one of the patterns based on a predetermined condition including light intensity.

    Abstract: An input device includes a first substrate, a light-emitting element, and a third electrode unit. The first substrate has first and second surfaces. The light-emitting element unit includes: a first conductive electrode unit including first conductive layers; a second conductive electrode unit including second conductive layers each having a size overlapping with the first conductive layer in planar view; and luminescent layers conducted with at least a part of the first electrode unit, each provided between the first and second electrode units and conducted with the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer overlapping with the first conductive layer in planar view. The third electrode unit is insulated from the first conductive layers and detects a change in an electric field between the first conductive layers and the third electrode unit depending on coordinates of a proximity object at a position overlapping with the first surface in planar view.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes first to fourth sub-pixels. The first to fourth sub-pixels are each divided into N (N≥2) sub-divided pixels having different areas and can perform N-bit gradation display. Gradation display for a mixed color combining two types out of the first to fourth sub-pixels includes: the N-bit gradation display including 2N-step gradation; and halftone gradation display. In first and second gradation display, an area ratio between the sub-divided pixels driven and those not driven in one of the two types is equal to that in the other of the two types. In the second gradation display, a total area ratio of the sub-divided pixels driven to those not driven is greater than that in the first gradation display. In the halftone gradation display, an area ratio between the sub-divided pixels driven and those not driven is different between the two types.

The display area includes a plurality of partial areas corresponding to the light sources on a one-to-one basis. Each of the partial areas includes a first area and a second area, the first area being irradiated with light from a first light source that corresponds thereto, and the second area being irradiated with light from the first light source and a second light source adjacent to the first light source.
