Abstract: Examples described herein involve an internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) network. An example process may include receiving, from a user equipment (UE), a request for an IMS session. The IMS session may be between the IMS network and the UE. The process may include requesting a subscriber management component to provide platform information associated with the IMS session. The platform information may identify a platform device that hosts a user plane function (UPF) for the IMS session. The process may include receiving, from the subscriber management component, the platform information and selecting, based on the platform information, a user plane component of the IMS network. The user plane component may perform a user plane operation associated with the IMS session. The process may include causing the user plane component to perform the user plane operation for the IMS session.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide for provisioning network resources of multi-access edge computing (MEC) networks in support of an application service session for an end device; assigning an IP address to the end device for use in a first coverage area served by a first MEC network of the MEC networks; receiving, by a first application function (AF) device at the first MEC network, a session mobility notification for the end device with respect to the first coverage area and a second coverage area served by a second MEC network of the MEC networks; setting, responsive to the session mobility notification, an allotted time for relocating the application service session from the first MEC network to the second MEC network; and transferring, during the allotted time, application context corresponding to the relocated application service session to a second AF device at the second MEC network.

Abstract: A device connected to a wireless network receives, from a mobile user equipment device (UE) associated with a user, a wireless network service request. The device obtains the user's subscribed mobility handover techniques, where the user's subscribed mobility handover techniques include one or more mobility handover techniques selected by the user from multiple different mobility handover techniques associated with at least one wireless network service plan. The device executes the one or more different mobility handover techniques selected by the user for maintaining wireless communication with the mobile UE as the mobile UE moves within the wireless network.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for maintaining and transferring context information for a Dual Connectivity (“DC”)-capable User Equipment (“UE”) and a secondary Next Generation Node B (“gNB”) in situations where the UE is connected to a primary gNB and the secondary gNB and is handed over to an evolved Node B (“eNB”). The context information may be provided to the eNB without releasing resources or tearing down bearers at the secondary gNB, such that the UE may seamlessly continue communicating with the secondary gNB while a primary connection associated with the UE is handed over from the primary gNB to the eNB.

The granular characteristics may indicated a content type, keywords, and/or other characteristics that the requestor may desire to intercept. Traffic attributes, which may be different from the granular characteristics, may be identified based on the granular characteristics. Network components suited to intercepting traffic having the identified attributes may be provisioned to intercept the traffic.

The packet size service may calculate a payload size for packets that include application service data. The packet size service may inform an end device and an application service layer network of the calculated payload size. The packet size service may obtain quality of service information pertaining to an application service, and other information as a basis for the calculation. The packet size service may use a machine learning system to calculate the payload size.

Abstract: A device may receive data indicating a required quality of service (QoS), and may receive radio access network (RAN) information associated with a RAN, wherein the RAN information is provided by a centralized unit (CU) of the RAN. The device may provide the RAN information to a multi-access edge computing (MEC) platform, and may receive, from the MEC platform, a QoS request that requests the required QoS. The device may provide the QoS request to the CU, and may receive a QoS response to the QoS request. The device may provide the QoS response to a policy control function (PCF) of a core network, and may receive an indication of approval of the QoS response from the PCF. The device may cause, based on receiving the indication of approval, the required QoS to be implemented by the MEC platform and network devices associated with the core network.
