Abstract:
A pressure variable thermal adaptive microclimate surface is provided. The microclimate surface may be a pad, pillow, mattress or the like. The microclimate surface is especially suitable for providing optimal heating and/or cooling of a person. The heating or cooling is provided through heating or cooling delivery system located in the sculpted polyurethane foam microclimate surface. The microclimate surface has a plurality of independently moving pillars which is optimal in reducing pressure ulcers on the skin of a person caused by the person spending extended periods of time on a typical surface, such as a hospital mattress. The heating or cooling delivery system may be provided through three possible configurations.

Abstract:
A pillow is provided herein which includes a cover having opposing first and second panels. A gusset perimetrically bounds, and joins, the first and second panels. The gusset is formed of an open cell construction. Compliant fill material is disposed within the cover. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a pillow is provided allowing for lateral ventilation between opposing panels. This permits a cooling effect while a user is resting or sleeping.

Abstract:
A neck supporting pillow apparatus that provides support for both the head and neck by way of adjustable inflation of the resting surface of the pillow is disclosed. An inflatable pillow structure has a head support section and a raised neck support section. The head support section includes a generally concave mid-portion bordered by generally planar side surfaces. The raised neck support includes a top surface that is generally convexly shaped to provide proper neck support. The pillow body defines an internal chamber with an openable cover to allow for insertion of a heat pack or cold pack. Independently inflatable firmness bladders allow for customization of support by increasing or decreasing the pressure in bladders.
Abstract:
A thermal pillow apparatus comprising a pillow element, a heat exchanger, a thermal liquid, a fluid pump and a controller is disclosed. The thermal liquid circulates between the heat exchanger and the pillow element in a closed loop, transferring thermal energy between the heat exchanger and the pillow element. A fluid pump is disposed in the closed loop to aid in circulating the thermal liquid within the closed loop. A Peltier device is the typical heat pump element used in the heat exchanger. The controller coordinates the operation of the thermal pillow apparatus, for example monitoring the temperature of the thermal liquid, and activating the heat exchanger and the fluid pump.
Abstract:
A pillow with dual-uses in warm and cold conditions includes a main body, the main body including a first gas nipple, a plug and a second gas nipple mounted thereon; a first chamber arranged at the center of the main body and connected with the gas nipple to be configured for filling gas therein; a second chamber arranged in the main body and adjacent to an exterior of the main body, the second chamber connected with the plug to be configured for filling water therein; and a third chamber arranged between the first chamber and the second chamber and connected with the second gas nipple to be configured for filling gas therein. The present pillow uses at least one second chamber filled water therein to make it steady and uses at least one first chamber filled gas therein to decrease the using amount of the water.
Abstract:
A pillow system including a support section an angled section and a neck support. The angled section is coupled with the support section. The neck support is coupled with the support section or the angled section.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sleeping device, such as a pillow, mattress or quilt, wherein the sleeping device is adapted to be used by a person during rest and comprises a first layer of a material having temperature regulating properties and a second layer of down filling. By using a material with temperature regulating properties together with a layer of down filling, very good properties of minimizing temperature variations are obtained.
Abstract:
The invention provides a dehumidifier air passage being capable of providing a sufficient effect of dehumidification and being excellent in mass productivity. A dehumidifier air passage 10 is used in a dehumidifier for removing moisture by making the outside air flow in the vicinity of the surface of a human body and the like, and comprises a nearly flat spacer 11 and a moisture transmittable sheet 21. The spacer 11 is used for supporting the moisture transmittable sheet 21 and securing a space through which air flows, and has a nearly flat base 15 and a plurality of long and narrow projections 16. Each of the projections 16 is formed so that the face of it facing the moisture transmittable sheet 21 is at most 50% in area of the face being in contact with the base 15. A foamed plastic material is used as a material for the spacer 11. The spacer 11 is manufactured by cutting a foamed plastic material or by molding a foamed plastic material.
