Abstract:
A maintenance screen for use in low-velocity, shallow or horizontal or slightly inclined wells is disclosed. The maintenance screen of the present invention utilizes a generally downwardly oriented portion through which fluid can pass and a generally upwardly oriented portion which does not allow sand or fluid to pass therethrough, so that sand naturally gravitates downward through the fluid and away from the portion of the screen through which the fluid may pass to enter the well tubing.
Abstract:
A wall means intended for apparatus for separation of a liquid-containing portion from a liquid-containing particle material which is fed through the apparatus in a predetermined direction (A). The wall means comprises a plurality of bar profiles defining continuous slots between them to allow through the liquid-containing portion. According to the invention each bar profile has on its inner side facing the liquid-containing particle material a ridge portion extending between the ends of the bar profile and being provided with two continuous guide surfaces which, as seen in a cross section of the rod profile, are inclined in relation to the drainage direction (B) of the liquid-containing portion through the adjacent slot. Furthermore, the inclined guide surfaces in their longitudinal direction are disposed to coincide with the predetermined direction of feed (A) of the liquid-containing particle material in order to influence the liquid-containing particle material to maintain this direction of feed (A).
Abstract:
An apparatus for screening pulp comprises a vessel, a cylindrical screen within the vessel, a cylindrical rotor moving in the vicinity of the screen at a predetermined speed, an inlet for the unscreened pulp, an outlet for the screened pulp in the vessel. The rotor has a contour surface which is achieved by means of a plurality of protrusions of contoured shape on the surface of the rotor, for instance by welding. The protrusions are spaced and are arranged along the entire axial length of the rotor.
Abstract:
A screen basket comprising a plurality of rods each positioned approximately parallel to the rotational symmetrical axis of the basket, a plurality of rings for connecting the plurality of rods, wherein the plurality of rods form screen slots therebetween, and wherein the plurality of rods is fastened to the plurality of rings by either welding or soldering. Each rod has a cross-section and each of said plurality of rings has a recess in the shape of the section of the cross-section of the plurality of rods. The recess is adapted to receive the plurality of rods therein.
Abstract:
A slit screen that is simple to manufacture and excellent in working precision, which includes a screen cylinder in which at least one side of inlet corner portions of slit openings is subjected to chamfering and a cylindrical rotor rotatably disposed on the inside of the screen cylinder and having a large number of protrusions on its surface on the side thereof facing the screen cylinder. The screen cylinder can be made from a plurality of spaced-apart, identical extruded bars of suitable cross-section joined to upper and lower supports. The protrusions on the cylindrical rotor can be non-metallic elastic inserts mounted on a rotor drum.
Abstract:
A drainage system for expressing liquids and fluids from fibrous materials. The system includes a plurality of spaced apart compression elements each retained in juxaposition one to another so as to have a fluid escape slot between each adjacent compression element. Each compression element has a longitudinal passageway therethrough each having an inlet and an outlet which is inwardly tapered toward its outlet. The combination of passageways through each compression element forms a compression conduit whose inlet and outlet generally functionally coincide with the intake and exit, respectively, of the drainage system. The fibrous material to be expressed is introduced into the system's intake under pressure, the fibrous material being compressed as it is forcably urged through each tapered passageway, the expressed fluids exiting the compression conduit radially outwardly through fluid escape slots. The slots, which may be dynamically variable in width, are sized to facilitate fluid escape or discharge, but to contain the fibrous material within the compression conduit. The preferred embodiment of the shape of each taper is a truncated cone whose nominal diameter may also vary along the length of the compression conduit to prevent build-up and cloging of the fibrous material as it passes through the drainage system. This concept of fluid discharge slot variability during operation is also applied to improvements in conventional screw press cage screen bars.
Abstract:
An apparatus for screening pulp comprises a vessel, a cylindrical screen within the vessel, a rotating element moving in the vicinity of the screen at a predetermined speed, an inlet for the unscreened pulp, an outlet for the screened pulp in the vessel. The rotating element has a contour surface with grooves formed of a first plane parallel to the envelope surface, an inclined plane, an upper plane and a side plane, the side plane being essentially perpendicular to the first plane, the inclined plane forming an angle between 30.degree.-60.degree. with the first plane, the upper plane being parallel to the first plane. The rotating element may be a rotor or blade type segments.
Abstract:
Dewatering and homogenizing apparatus comprising a screw thickener at the discharge end provided with a plug forming means actuated by pulling means. At the thickener's discharge end there is also mounted a hood for receiving dewatered pulp and with supply means for homogenizing agent.
Abstract:
THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO FILTERS, FOR EXAMPLE DISC TYPE FILTERS USEFUL IN THE PRODUCTION OF POLYMERS. MORE PARTICULARLY, IT RELATES TO DISC TYPE FILTER CORES WHICH SERVE AT LEAST TWO FUNCTIONS, (1) ADDING SUPPORT TO THE FILTER MEDIA, AND (2) PROVIDING CONTINUOUS FILTRATE FLOW PASSAGES DURING THE FILTERING PROCESS ATTENDANT TO SUCH PRODUCTION. EACH FILTER CORE COMPRISES AT LEAST TWO DISCS IN FACE-TO-FACE RELATION, AT LEAST ONE OF THE DISCS HAVING ELONGATED APERTURES THEREIN AND AT LEAST ONE OF OTHER DISC HAVING AT LEAST ONE ELONGATED FILTRATE CONDUIT MEANS
THEREIN. THE APERTURES AND THE FILTRATE CONDUIT MEANS COOPERATIVELY FORM A CONTINUOUS FLUID PASSAGE SUCH THAT, FOR EXAMPLE, FOR A GIVEN FILTRATE FLOW VELOCITY, FILTER MEDIA SUPPORT MAY BE MAXIMIZED.
