Abstract:
Cleaning and disinfection product that resolves the problem of the droplet size in the spray and, therefore improves the effectiveness of the product for which, in aerosol format and with a propellant that is a liquefied petroleum gas, the valve allows a discharge rate of 0.2 g/s to 4 g/s and the composition of the liquid for propelling, without the propellant, comprises, ethanol or isopropanol between 60% and 90% with the rest, up to 100%, propylene glycol up to 100%, it being possible to optionally incorporate a fragrance up to 5%, in which case the propylene glycol content is conveniently reduced. In the total amount of product, including the propellant, the propellant accounts for between 10% and 30% of the weight.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods for enhancing immune competence in a patient comprising a compound which functions to stimulate the immune system and a compound which functions to regulate neuroendocrine balance, the compositions being used to treat patients suffering from diseases associated with impaired immune functioning, including, for example, cancer and autoimmune diseases.
Abstract:
An apparatus for performing manipulation and analysis of data characteristic of brain electrical activity of a patient. Computer analysis is utilized to provide the most useful form of topographical maps and related data for evaluation of a patient by a user. The application can be operated as part of an integral unit or remote from the location where brain electrical activity signals are measured on the patient.Threshold circuitry ensures that only signals meeting predetermined conditions are stored. A user modifiable digital filter allows for on-line analysis of changes in filter characteristics. A simultaneaous display of a plurality of topographical maps in visual summary format is presented. Readability is enhanced by showing only the color codes that actually appear in the topographical map. Montages can be created.
Abstract:
Increasingly, infectious diseases due to viruses, bacteria, fungi and other contact-transmissible microorganisms, droplets and/or aerosols, are acquiring greater importance due to globalisation and the ease of dissemination between very distant countries. A characteristic example is the Influenza A pandemic in 2009 and the SARS pandemics due to the SARS-Cov virus in 2003 and the COVID-19 pandemic due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in 2020. To combat infections that may occur by contact, or by aerosolised drops (including those surfaces contaminated with infectious agents), a wider palette of antimicrobials and virucides is required. The present invention resolves this problem for viral infections with the use of a low toxicity surfactant from the group of trimethylammonium methyl sulfates.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for flushing or rinsing the skin and eyes by which an aqueous fluid consisting essentially of water is sprayed onto the skin and/or eyes for a time sufficient to remove contaminants on or in the skin or eyes.
Abstract:
A system and method of central auditory processing testing and evaluation provides for identifying clinically relevant neural synchrony in the auditory brainstem pathway. The system or method finds use as a tool to evaluate auditory processing disorders, and hence, potential auditory system and/or learning disabilities. The system or method may further find use in the selection and fitting of hearing corrective appliances such as hearing aid or cochlear implant devices and/or in the selection and implementation of auditory training regimens.
Abstract:
An audiometer includes a data acquisition/transducer module, a signal processing module and a user interface. A probe is coupled to the data acquisition module. The signal processing module forms an otoacoustic emission stimulus signal for transduction to a patient via the data acquisition/transducer module and the probe and to detect a response to the stimulus. The audiometer operable to correlate the response to a hearing disability corresponding to a hearing loss at one of a plurality of auditory thresholds.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for compressing a data vector of a predetermined number of data points. The apparatus includes a memory for storing the compressed data vector, a first comparator for determining a largest and smallest data point of the data vector and a second comparator for comparing the largest and smallest data point and when they are equal, causing a first data point of the data vector to be stored in the memory as the compressed data vector. The apparatus also includes a first processor for determining a data field width necessary to uniquely describe a largest relative magnitude data point and a second processor for storing the data points of the data vector as the compressed vector in data fields of memory of the data field width. The apparatus also includes a comparator and register for creating a difference vector of difference values of adjacent data points of the data vector, a first processor for determining a data field width necessary to uniquely describe a largest magnitude difference value of the difference vector, and a second processor for storing the difference points of the difference vector as the compressed vector in data fields of the memory of the determined field width along with a magnitude and sign of the first data point of the data vector.
