    Abstract: A method for controlling a target switch assembly in a chain of switch assemblies includes distributing the chain of switch assemblies in a wellbore; placing a controller at a head of the wellbore; making a first decision, at the controller, to actuate a corresponding detonator of the target switch assembly; transmitting, from the controller to the target switch assembly, a fire command to activate the corresponding detonator; and making a second decision, locally, at the target switch assembly, to activate the detonator, after the fire command from the controller is received.

    Abstract: An interchangeable module configured to be used in an integrated perforating gun and setting tool system, the interchangeable module having a body having a chamber, a first electrical connection located at a first end of the chamber, and a second electrical connection located at a second end of the chamber. The first end is opposite to the second end. An addressable switch located inside the chamber, the addressable switch has a digital address. A connection unit located inside the chamber and configured to electrically connect the addressable switch to an initiating device. The interchangeable module is configured to be used (1) between a first gun cluster and a second gun cluster and (2) between a distal gun cluster and a setting tool, and the first and second electrical connections are electrically connected to the addressable switch.

    Abstract: A housing for an electrical component of a gun system is disclosed. The housing includes a housing body, an uphole bulkhead, and a downhole bulkhead. The housing body defines a cavity. The uphole bulkhead is disposed at least partially within the cavity. The downhole bulkhead is disposed at least partially within the cavity and opposite to the uphole bulkhead. The downhole bulkhead includes an electrical contact extending between a first end and a second end of the downhole bulkhead. The cavity, the uphole bulkhead, and the second end of the downhole bulkhead define a sealed volume configured to receive and isolate the electrical component. The electrical contact is configured to be electrically connected to the electrical component.

    Abstract: A centralizing device is configured to centralize/decentralize an associated tool in a well. The centralizing device includes a body that extends along a longitudinal axis X, the body having a bore that extends from one end to another end of the body; a first piston shaped as a cylinder and provided around a central portion of the body; a second piston shaped as a cylinder and provided around the central portion of the body; a bridge provided around the central portion of the body, between the first and second pistons; and a pair of arms, each arm being attached with one end to a corresponding one of the first and second pistons and with another end to each other. The second piston, the bridge, and the central portion of the body define a sealed chamber, which is sealed from the ambient.
