The weight exercise device includes: an exercise body in which a motion is generated according to a weight exercise of a user; a sensor configured to detect the motion of the exercise body; a display configured to output a user interface screen; and a processor configured to control the display to display, on the user interface screen, a first indicator indicating an exercise state of the user corresponding to the detected motion and a second indicator indicating an exercise guide that is recommended when exercising using the exercise body, wherein the processor is further configured to control the display such that a position of the second indicator is adaptively changed based on the exercise state of the user.
