    Abstract: A shielded electrical connector system for electrically and mechanically connecting a component to a power source is disclosed. The connector system includes a male connector assembly with a male terminal, a non-conductive internal male housing that receives the male terminal, and a conductive external male housing that receives an extent of the internal male housing. This terminal includes a receiver and side walls with a contact arm that extends across an aperture in the side wall. An internal spring member with at least one spring arm resides within the male terminal receiver. A female connector assembly includes a female terminal with a receptacle that receives both the male terminal and the spring member. A non-conductive internal female housing receives the female terminal and an extent of the male connector assembly. A conductive external female housing that receives: (i) an extent of the internal female housing, (ii) an extent of the internal male housing, and (iii) an extent of the external male housing.

    Abstract: A dimmer includes a TRIAC, a zero crossing detection circuit coupled to the TRIAC and structured to detect zero crossing of line voltage; a gate control circuit coupled to a gate of the TRIAC and the zero crossing detection circuit, the gate control circuit structured to drive the gate of the TRIAC to switch between an on phase and an off phase; a power supply circuit coupled to the gate control circuit and the zero crossing detection circuit, the power supply circuit structured to supply power to at least the gate control circuit and the zero crossing detection circuit; a snubber circuit coupled to the TRIAC and structured to limit fast transient voltages; and a zero crossing detection improvement circuit comprising a first switch and a second switch and structured to block current from flowing through the power supply circuit and the snubber circuit during the off phase.

    Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a computer implemented system and method to determine relationships between data elements using a knowledge graph are described. The method comprises establishing a knowledge graph having graph elements, associating weights with data elements and determining at least some of these weights to be modifiable weights. Training data is used to determine the relationships between data elements in the knowledge graph by calculating the strength of the relationship. The calculated relationship strength values are compared to previously established relationship strength values, and one or more modifiable weights are modified to reduce the error between the calculated and established relationship strength values. These steps are repeated until a matching criterion is reached.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an auxiliary pre-charging device for a power converter. The power converter includes at least one power unit with an input end being connected to a medium and high voltage AC power source, and an output end being connected to a low voltage DC bus, wherein the auxiliary pre-charging device includes a switch, a transformer, a pre-charging resistor, and a rectifier sequentially connected in series, one end of the switch is connected to the medium and high voltage AC power source, and an output end of the rectifier is connected to the low voltage DC bus. The present invention also provides a pre-charging method for a power converter, which uses the aforementioned auxiliary pre-charging device to start pre-charging at the low-voltage output end of the power converter.

    Abstract: A fuse monitoring assembly for monitoring one or more fuses within a fuse housing includes an upper housing and a lower housing coupled to the upper housing and defining a housing cavity; at least one sensor configured to measure fuse data associated with the one or more fuses, the fuse data including operational data of the fuse and environmental data in which the one or more fuses are located; and at least one processor communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor to transmit the fuse data to a remote computing device. The remote computing device is configured to receive the fuse data; determine an estimated remaining fuse service life by analyzing the fuse data using a combination of a physics model and a machine-learning model; and generate a fuse message based on the analysis. The sensor and the processor are positioned within the housing cavity.

    Abstract: An improved wire management arrangement for managing utility-connected conductors run to an electrical wiring device includes a connector and a housing. The connector receives the conductors and includes electrical contacts that connect to the conductors. The rear side of the housing is structured to be coupled to the connector, and the front side of the housing is structured to have an electrical wiring device faceplate installed so that the faceplate can connect to utility power through the connector. The connector includes latching elements, and the housing includes latch receiving openings that cooperate with the latching elements in order to couple the connector to the housing. The latch receiving openings obstruct the latching elements from unintentionally becoming de-installed during the Underwriters Lab (UL) 20 pull test.
