Abstract:
An apparatus to facilitate compute optimization is disclosed. The apparatus includes a memory device including a first integrated circuit (IC) including a plurality of memory channels and a second IC including a plurality of processing units, each coupled to a memory channel in the plurality of memory channels.
Abstract:
Embodiments adjust device error radiuses associated with inferred device positions produced by positioning systems. Inferred beacon positions and associated beacon radiuses are accessed for beacons in a beacon fingerprint from an observing computing device. The beacon radiuses are associated with a pre-defined confidence level (e.g., an in-circle percentage). A Kalman filter is applied to at least one of the beacons using the inferred beacon positions and the beacon radiuses associated therewith to infer a device position for the computing device and to compute a device error radius for the inferred device position. The computed device error radius is adjusted as a function of the quantity of beacons input to the Kalman filter to achieve the pre-defined confidence level.
Abstract:
An image sensor package and method for fabricating the same is provided. The image sensor package includes a first substrate comprising a via therein, a driving circuit and a first conductive pad thereon. A second substrate comprising a photosensitive device and a second conductive pad thereon is bonded to the first substrate, so that the driving circuit, formed on the first substrate, can electrically connect to and further control the photosensitive device, formed on the second substrate. A solder ball is formed on a backside of the first substrate and electrically connects to the via for transmitting a signal from the driving circuit. Because the photosensitive device and the driving circuit are fabricated individually on the different substrates, fabrication and design thereof is more flexible. Moreover, the image sensor package is relatively less thick, thus, the dimensions thereof are reduced.

Abstract:
The present disclosure provides an active warning device for server and the warning method thereof. The active warning device is applied to a server. When a control module in the server is departing from a midplane board, the active warning device can provide warning actively. Thereby, a user can notice that the control module is been drawing out of the server and then uses his both hands to support it for preventing tilt, fall, and hence damage of the control module.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a dummy gate electrode of a semiconductor device. An embodiment comprises a substrate comprising a first surface; an insulation region covering a portion of the first surface, wherein the top of the insulation region defines a second surface; and a dummy gate electrode over the second surface, wherein the dummy gate electrode comprises a bottom and a base broader than the bottom, wherein a ratio of a width of the bottom to a width of the base is from about 0.5 to about 0.9.
Abstract:
A cloud-based energy-saving service system and method are disclosed. The service system and method of this invention use the strong computation capabilities of the cloud computing technology and systems to determine the power consumption policies of the mobile devices and provide the policies to the mobile devices, whereby the mobile devices implement the power consumption policies to save its power consumptions. In one aspect, the invented system and method calculate and determine the backlight level polices for a particular video stream, then provide the policies information to the mobile devices for implementation. The policies information may be provided to the mobile devices independently or along with the video stream. The calculation of the backlight illumination levels may be done in advance or on remand.
Abstract:
Selecting devices from which to receive data for adjusting the performance of a positioning system. The positioning system infers the location of the devices based on beacons observed by the devices. The performance of the positioning system is compared to performance targets. One or more of the devices are selected based on the comparison. Data collection from the devices is adjusted to affect performance of the positioning system (e.g., improved or reduced). For example, if the positioning system predicts positions poorly for a particular area, data collection from selected devices within the particular area may be increased.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, an apparatus for managing hypercalls in a hypervisor having an interrupt handler and a schedule is described. A deferrable low-overhead hypercall (DLH) module is configured to assign a separate DLH queue to each of a plurality of virtual machines when the virtual machine is initialized. Each entry in the separate DLH queue represents a hypercall routine. When one of the virtual machines notifies the interrupt handler of at least a deferrable hypercalls to be executed, the scheduler selects at least a virtual CPU (VCPU) and assigns them to the virtual machine to run on at least a physical CPU (PCPU). The DLH module executes the at least a deferrable hypercall inserted in a DLH queue assigned to the virtual machine before restoring the VCPU context to the virtual machine having the at least an assigned VCPU.
