Abstract:
An image forming apparatus having an automatic document feeding unit so as to successively read documents is disclosed. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit to form an image on a printing medium, an image reading unit pivotally coupled to an upper portion of the image forming unit to expose and shield a top of the image forming unit, an automatic document feeding unit pivotally coupled to an upper portion of the image reading unit to expose and shield a top of the image reading unit, and a locking device to selectively expose any one of the top of the image forming unit and the top of the image reading unit. Since the locking device prevents the top of the image forming unit and the top of the image reading unit from being simultaneously exposed, the automatic document feeding unit can be prevented from being damaged due to the simultaneous exposure of the top of the image forming unit and the top of the image reading unit.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an image forming apparatus including a reverse-feeding unit. The reverse-feeding unit includes a frame which forms a first feeding path along which a printing medium is fed and a second feeding path which is branched off from the first feeding path, a guide plate which rotates between a first position in which the printing medium fed along the first feeding path is supported and a second position in which the supported printing medium is directed towards the second feeding path, and a plate driving unit which comprises an actuator which actuates the guide plate, a driving source which drives the actuator, and an electronic clutch which selectively transmits a driving force of the driving source to the actuator.
Abstract:
A paper jam removing structure for an image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes at least one roller located in the image forming apparatus on a paper feeding path that feeds paper. A reflection mirror is located such that the roller and the portion around the roller may be seen from the front of the image forming apparatus.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a device for feeding a recordable paper to an image forming apparatus. The device according to the present invention is designed such that a document feeder is disposed on a knock-up plate on which recordable papers are stacked so as to feed a document using such a identical path of feeding the recordable paper when printing as that of feeding a document to be scanned. When scanning the document, the document feeder is positioned over the knock-up plate having the recordable papers stacked thereon to be adjacent to the feed roller. Accordingly, there is an advantage in that a structure of the image forming apparatus is simply, resulting in providing a convenience for an user.

Abstract:
An automatic document feeder has a separation roller that separates a document into individual sheets. The document is supplied from a document supply tray. A friction pad is formed to contact one side of the separation roller to supply a friction force for separating the document. A pad holder supports the friction pad. A cover member covers the separation roller. An interlocking unit pressurizes or separates the pad holder toward or from the separation roller in association with an opening or a closing of the cover member. The interlocking unit includes a pinion gear rotating in association with the opening or the closing of the cover member. A rack gear linearly moves in a normal direction of a plane contacting the separation roller and the friction pad according to a rotation direction of the pinion gear. A connecting unit connects the rack gear and the pad holder. An elastic member elastically supports the pad holder to face the separation roller.

Abstract:
A sheet feeding device that may be constructed using a first tray mounted in a frame and biased by an elastic member to bring the paper stacked on the first tray into engagement with a pickup roller. A finger is pivotally attached to the frame to force the paper loaded from the first tray to be loaded sequentially. A second tray is attached to the frame and has an end that forms a document guide that is interposed between the finger and the pickup roller. Alternatively, the second tray can end before the pickup roller and a film can be attached to the second tray to form a document guide that extends between the pickup roller and the finger. Regardless of the method used to form a document guide, the document guide allows a user to intersperse a manually fed document between documents that are being loaded from a separate tray using an automatic document loading process.
