    Abstract: A device for use in orthopedic procedures involving the alignment and fixation of bone. The device includes a body having a bone facing surface, an opposing surface, a lateral surface being disposed between the bone facing surface and the opposing surface and a longitudinal axis extending through the bone facing surface and the opposing surface. The body defines a pin hole extending through the body from the bone facing surface to the opposing surface, a bone fastener hole extending through the body from the bone facing surface to the opposing surface, a tool hole extending at least partially through the body and an alignment index for positioning the body relative to bone.

    Abstract: A flexible modular instrument includes a shaft and an extension piece. The shaft includes an interior segment having a first outer cross-sectional dimension and an end segment extending from the interior segment having a second outer cross-sectional dimension less than the first outer cross-sectional dimension. The interior segment includes a radial protrusion adjacent to the end segment such that the radial protrusion extends further from a central longitudinal axis of the shaft than an outer surface of the interior segment, wherein the first and second outer cross-sectional dimensions are measured orthogonally relative to the central longitudinal axis. The extension piece includes an attachment portion removably engageable with the end segment of the shaft. The attachment portion includes an opening to receive the end segment, the opening being defined in part by a pair of arms, each arm of the pair of arms including a projection into the opening.

    Abstract: A distal femoral joint replacement system includes a femoral component having condylar articular surfaces, a stem extending from the femoral component, and a void filler for filling a bone void within a femur. The void filler includes a body and a plurality of legs extending from the body. The body has a sidewall defining an opening for receipt of the stem which extends along a length of the body and extends through the sidewall so as to form a side-slot in the sidewall that extends along an entire length of the sidewall. The plurality of legs each have a first end connected to the body and a second end remote from the body. The legs each have an outer surface that tapers between the first and second ends and is configured to register with a corresponding inner surface of a bone void when implanted in an end of the femur.

    Abstract: A kit for preparing an intervertebral disc space for receiving an implant (100) includes a plurality of trials (152) having different sizes. Each trial (152) includes a body (154) insertible into an intervertebral disc space, the body (154) having a leading end (162), a trailing end (164), a top surface (156) and a bottom surface (160), the top surface of the body having a first groove (176) formed therein. Each implant also includes a flange (166) secured to the trailing end (164) of the body (154), the flange (166) having a first channel (180) aligned with the first groove (176), wherein each of the different sized trials has a different flange thickness. The flange thickness controls advancement of a cutting tool such as a chisel (192) into the first groove at the top surface of the trial body, which controls the depth of the cut into vertebral bone.
