Abstract:
A pipe clamp for affixing to a pipe subjected to bending to minimize fatigue for a butt weld in the pipe. The pipe clamp includes an inside clamp segment and an outside clamp segment each having a semi-cylindrical shape, a first end and a second end. An inside surface of the inside clamp segment is substantially smooth for permitting slippage of an outside surface of the pipe with respect to the inside surface of the clamp segment. The outside clamp segment has an inside surface that defines a friction element. The friction element is for gripping an outside surface of the pipe to which the outside clamp segment is affixed. A clamp mechanism is provided for securing the inside clamp segment to the outside clamp segment.
Abstract:
A leverage handle tool includes a handle and a seat block. In use, a slot in the seat block is located upon a handle such as a vice handle, and the tool is pulled toward the handle end. As the tool is pulled toward the handle end the slot grips the handle due to the frusto-conical configuration thereof. The tool may then be acted upon such that the tool increase the leverage upon handle.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an emulsion comprising an aqueous gelled outer phase, a non-aqueous intermediate phase and an inner phase containing an active ingredient incompatible with the gelled outer phase, wherein the outer phase comprises one or more anionic hydrocolloids in an amount of 0.1% to 5% by weight of the weight of the outer phase, the intermediate phase comprises an oil, and the inner phase containing the active ingredient is encapsulated by the intermediate phase. The emulsions are useful for the preparation of antiperspirants, sustained release drug formulations or personal hygiene products.
Abstract:
A method for handover of a user equipment in cell based networks includes: Detecting a deterioration of a predetermined connection quality for an application on the network connection path between the user equipment and the core network device via the connected base station; Providing backhaul connection information about at least one alternative base station providing at least the predetermined connection quality on its backhaul connection for the application; Blacklisting the connected base station on the user equipment; Providing a removing condition when to remove the connected base station from the blacklist; Requesting a handover of the user equipment from the connected base station to the alternative base station; Handover of the user equipment to the alternative base station if the handover request is accepted; and Handing back the user equipment to the previously connected base station if the removing condition is fulfilled.
Abstract:
A method and system for receiving data relating to an insurance claim for a damaged vehicle and transmitting a valuation report for the damaged vehicle over the world wide web. The system includes a client computer and a web server that are coupled through an electronic communication network such as the internet. The web server contains a web site that contains a plurality of web pages. Each web page allows an operator to enter the insurance claim data. The data can be processed into a valuation report by a separate valuation server. The valuation report can be transmitted to the client computer through the web server. A claims adjuster can access the web server by merely entering a uniform resource locator (“URL”) into a web browser. The adjuster does not have to dial directly into the valuation server.
Abstract:
A comminuting device is provided having a support structure, a set of intermeshing scissor rolls, at least two entrance openings, and a bulkhead. The support structure has an enclosure. The set of intermeshing scissor rolls are rotatably carried by the support structure. The at least two entrance openings are provided in the enclosure. The bulkhead is interposed between a first one of the entrance openings and a second one of the entrance openings. The bulkhead provides a first entrance shoot and a second entrance shoot, with the bulkhead including a mouth portion configured to transfer scrap products between the first entrance shoot and the second entrance shoot.
