Abstract:
Digital data processing circuitry is described that uses combinatorial logic hardware and sequential logic hardware to process one or more inputs. For each input a periodic sequence is generated that is based at least in part on a value of the input and a weight value. A match is determined at an event time when the periodic sequence(s) matches a corresponding arbitrary reference pattern. The digital data processing circuitry may be implemented as an integrated circuit as part of an interconnected network of devices that may be trained and subsequently used for recognition or other complex data processing tasks.
Abstract:
A protective head gear with a substantially hemi-spherically shaped portion intended to be worn over hair on the head of a wearer and including at least one opening therein large enough to accommodate a bundle of hair passing through the opening and means for securing the cap to the bundle of hair. An a fixed mechanism is attached to the cap body around the perimeter of the opening to compress the aperture containing the bundle of hair and hold the bundle of hair and the cap body in a fixed relationship. The fixed mechanism includes an O-ring attached to the cap body along the perimeter of the opening and a drawstring passed through the interior. The drawstring may be drawn to gather the sleeve to compress the bundle of hair. Two clamps are locked to the drawstring in a drawn disposition to hold the aperture gathered about the bundle of hair.
Abstract:
A load sensing platform (121) is disclosed for capturing a transit time, phase, or frequency of energy waves propagating through a medium that measures a parameter of the muscular-skeletal system. The load sensing platform (121) comprises a sensing assemblage (1), substrates (702, 704, and 706), springs (315), spring posts (708), and spring retainers (710). The sensing assemblage (1) comprises a stack of a transducer (5), waveguide (3), and transducer (6). A parameter is applied to the contact surfaces (8) of the load sensing platform (121). The sensing assemblage (1) measures changes in dimension due to the parameter. Position of the applied parameter can be measured by using more than one sensing assemblage (1). The springs (315) couple to the substrates (702, 704) providing mechanical support and to prevent cantilevering. The spring posts (708) and spring retainers (710) maintain the springs (315) at predetermined locations in the load sensing platform (121).
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides a bonus scheme associated with a feature event, or part thereof, which provides a plurality of feature games. With reference to the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4, a first feature event is conducted at Steps S3 to S5, the outcome of which determines a feature event win value. At Step S7 the feature event win value is compared to a threshold value and, if the gaming process win value is less than, or equal to the threshold value, the player becomes eligible to trigger a second feature event at Step S9.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns phenylcyclopentylacetamides and phenylcyclopropylcarboxamides and analogues thereof, processes for preparing them, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use as pharmaceuticals.
Abstract:
A method, system, and medium for performing a security analysis of a system, which is comprised of components and paths wherein a user identifies the components and paths of a system, associates a set of predetermined requirements to the components and paths of a system, and wherein the user selects security services to satisfy the requirements of the paths and components of the system. In at least some embodiments of the invention, the method comprises the publication of reports detailing the components, paths, requirements, and security services of a system as well as the rationale that a security service satisfies the requirements mapped to the components and paths of the system.
Abstract:
Smokable rods of cigarettes are manufactured using wrapping materials that incorporate at least one fibrous material (e.g., flax fibers, hardwood pulp fibers and/or softwood pulp fibers) at least one filler material (e.g., calcium carbonate in particulate form). The wrapping materials possess multi-layer coatings. The wrapping materials possess coatings in the form of series of spaced apart bands, each band possessing a series of layers. At least one of the coating layers can have a filler material dispersed or suspended within a film-forming material of that layer.
Abstract:
The present invention provides 1,4 substituted piperazines, 1,4 substituted piperidines, and 1-substituted, 4-alkylidenyl piperidines compounds. The compounds of the invention are dual acting molecules having both leukotriene inhibition properties as well as antihistaminergic properties. The compounds of the invention are useful for treating conditions in which there is likely to be a histamine and/or leukotriene component. These conditions include preferably asthma, seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, sinusitus, conjunctivitis, food allergy, scombroid poisoning, psoriasis, urticaria, pruritus, eczema, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic obsructive pulmonary disease, thrombotic disease and otitis media. Also provided are methods of treating asthma and rhinitis by administering an effective asthma and rhinitis-relieving amount of the compounds to a subject in need thereof.
Abstract:
There is described a feed mechanism for a feed table for translating sheet metal blanks from as automatic notching curling and beading machine to a bodymaker in the process of tin box manufacture. The mechanism comprises a pair of reciprocally drives longitudinal feed bars provided with spring loaded pawls in their upper surfaces which engage behind the edges of the blanks during a forward motion and slide beneath the blanks during a reverse motion. The difficulty of altering the lateral displacement of the respective feed bars to allow the table to transfer blanks of different sizes is overcome by using a telescopic fixing member which can be extended to an infinitesimal degree and then secured. In practice, both the longitudinal feed bars are secured to a reciprocally driven transfer table within the stationary feed table, and it is the connection of the feed bars to this table that is achieved with telescopic fixing members. Additionally, the feed bars may be disposed in guide means for both support and to ensure precisely linear back and forth motion parallel with the central axis of the table. In this manner reliable and trouble free transfer of blanks is effected.
Abstract:
A child-resistant closure container system allowing easy opening by debilitated adults. The closure has moveable panels on the side wall which, when depressed, allow the unscrewing of the closure from the neck of the jar or vial. The moveable panels include gabs engaging stationary locking lugs on the neck finish annulus, which prevent removal of the closure without depressing the tabs. The annulus and stationary locking lugs can be an integral part of the jar or vial.
