A method of containing a spill in an aqueous environment, comprises the steps of: placing a polymeric pipe under the surface level of the aqueous environment in the vicinity of a site of potential spillage; and raising the pipe from under the surface level to a containment level; wherein the pipe forms, when raised, at least a partial boundary around the spill for containing the spill.

De-polluting, self-cleaning coating compositions are disclosed which comprise an extender that comprises a mixture of calcium carbonate and one or more alternate extenders. The coatings of the invention exhibit improved durability and opacity without affecting the photocatalytic removal of NOx compounds.

The present invention provides titanium dioxide pigments with improved gloss and/or durability. The titanium dioxide pigments are made by treating titanium dioxide with a plurality of metal salts under conditions suitable to form the titanium dioxide pigment having improved gloss and/or durability, wherein at least one metal salt is capable of providing a monovalent anion. Preferred pigments of the present invention are substantially-sulfate free.

A tool for bending ceiling support rods includes a pair of reciprocable spring biased handle members, each having ajar at an upper end thereof. A rod bending bar is pivotally joined to the handle members immediately below the jaws. The bending bar includes a measurement wire having indica thereon for aligning with an externally projected laser beam so that a user may grip and bend each support rod at a desired height above the floor. The jaws are tightly secured about a rod at the desired height and the rod is bent back onto itself using the pivotable bending bar. The device assists a user in installing a level ceiling support system.

A garment for supporting a wearer's breasts has a band for encircling a wearer's torso and a pair of cups for receiving at least a major part of a wearer's breast, and a pair of shoulder straps, each shoulder strap extending from a corresponding cup to a back portion of the garment. The garment has a pair of panel portions, each panel portion extending between the band and a corresponding cup of the pair of cups. Each panel portion has a folding portion that is foldable relative to the pair of cups so that the folding portions lie between a wearer's breasts and a wearer's torso, in use. The band, the shoulder straps and the panel portions are arranged such that the weight of a wearer's breasts are supported by both the shoulder straps and the band.

De-polluting, self-cleaning coating compositions are disclosed which comprise photocatalytic titanium dioxide and a binder comprising an epoxy siloxane polymer. The compositions produce durable, self-cleaning coatings with photocatalytic activity against pollutants in the air, such as NOx compounds.

A hybrid propulsion and energy management system for use in marine vessels and other variable demand propulsion applications monitors and draws energy from various energy sources dynamically to implement multiple operating modes and provide efficient system operation across a range of propulsive demands, altering the operation and output of various energy sources in response to propulsive load demands, hotel loads and auxiliary energy demands. The propulsion system incorporates at least two propulsive sources, including at least one main propulsive engine and at least one motor-generator unit arranged to drive a common output shaft, and the energy management system dynamically shifts operation of each of the two sources to satisfy propulsive demands. The main propulsive engine and the motor-generator unit are capable of driving the common output shaft both independently and simultaneously. The motor-generator unit(s) are available to operate either as a motor driving the output shaft or as a generator supplying energy to the energy distribution system.

The presente invention relates to a composition having photocatalytic self-cleaning properties for use as a NOx removing coating on material surface, comprising at least: a) photocatalytic titanium dioxide particles having at least a de-NOx activity, b) particles having a de-HNO3 activity, c) an opacifying agent, and d) a silicon based-material in which said particles are dispersed, wherein said photocatalytic particles have a crystalline size ranging from 1 to 50 nm.
