Abstract:
A non-contact biometric sensing device is described. The device includes a processing device, a user interface communicatively coupled to the processing device, a display communicatively coupled to the processing device, a laser doppler vibrometer sensor communicatively coupled to the processing device, and an infrared camera communicatively coupled to the processing device. The processing device is programmed to utilize mechanical motion data received from the laser doppler vibrometer sensor and thermal distributions data from the infrared camera to calculate biometric data, when signals originating from the laser doppler vibrometer sensor and the infrared camera are reflected back towards the device from a target.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a process for cracking hydrocarbon feedstock containing resid comprising: (a) heating a hydrocarbon feedstock containing resid; (b) adding molecular hydrogen to said heated feedstock to form a mixture stream; (c) adding a catalyst containing metal-sulfide particles to said heated feedstock and/or said mixture stream; (d) reacting said mixture in a catalytic hydrovisbreaking reactor under conditions of temperature, pressure and residence time sufficient to catalytically hydrovisbreak at least a portion of said resid into hydrovisbroken hydrocarbon components; (e) passing said reacted mixture stream into a high pressure separator and separating hydrogen from said reacted mixture; (f) passing said reacted mixture through a knockout drum to remove catalyst and unreacted or uncracked resid as a bottoms stream; and (g) passing said catalytically hydrovisbroken hydrocarbon components into a steam cracking furnace and thermally cracking said hydrocarbon components to form light olefins, alternately the knockout drum of step (f) is integrated into the steam cracking furnace of step (g).
Abstract:
Novel non-steroidal estrogen receptor ligands and methods of synthesis are disclosed. The novel molecules are intended for use in therapeutic preparations for the treatment of estrogen receptor related disease states. The compounds specified are tetra-cyclic derivatives and have been shown to be antiproliferative against human estrogen-dependent cancer cells and to have good binding affinity for the estrogen receptor.
Abstract:
Attachment of electrical junction box mounts to junction box by a single step or through a single motion. Mounts may be constructed as a single part. Electrical junction box ceiling mount includes a spanning element for traversing an acoustical ceiling tile and a support element connected to the spanning element. The support element includes a fastener adapted to engage a sidewall of an electrical junction box, including one or more faces of the sidewall. The support element may also include a bracket configured to support a portion of a rim of the front opening of the electrical junction box. The fastener may include a bracket configured for an interference fit with the sidewall of the electrical junction box. The fastener may also include a bracket adapted to engage an outside face of the sidewall on opposing sides of the electrical junction box.
Abstract:
A tractor comprises a tractor frame, driven ground engaging means, and an electronic tractor controller. A baler comprises a baler frame coupled or connected to the tractor frame, a crop receiving means, a baling chamber, a bale size sensor associated with the baling chamber, and an electronic baler controller. The baler controller is operable to submit a halt signal to the tractor controller when a bale size signal provided by the bale size sensor indicates that a bale has reached a size equal to or exceeding a first predetermined size. A control method includes the baler controller generating a tractor halt signal in response to certain conditions of the baler system and the tractor controller preventing tractor motion in response to the halt signal. The method also includes, when the baler controller is generating the halt signal, enabling motion of the tractor if the operator issues a command for the tractor to move by manipulating the command device, and within a certain time period of said command being issued, the baler controller generates a tractor motion enabling signal in response a status of the baler system. The method further includes, when the baler controller is generating the halt signal, enabling motion of the tractor if the operator moves the tractor command device in a special manner.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus comprising a group of passive sensor systems, an active sensor system, and a processor unit. The group of passive sensor systems is configured to generate first sensor information from light in an environment around the group of passive sensor systems. The active sensor system is configured to send signals, receive responses from the signals, and generate second sensor information from the responses. The processor unit is configured to control the active sensor system to send the signals in a direction toward an object using the first sensor information and generate information about the object using the second sensor information.

Abstract:
A remote sensor for detection of the initiation of combustion includes a broad-band sensor, associated signal processing and an interface to the user. The sensor uses the signature formed by the temporal evolution of the spectral emission intrinsic to combustion as a fingerprint for detecting the combustion. The sensor can autonomously monitor a scene and issue an alert as warranted.
