    Abstract: Systems and methods for correcting NMR T2 times are disclosed. The method may include creating a plurality of 3D rough surface pore models, where each 3D rough surface pore model includes a rough surface, for each of the plurality determining a pore roughness coefficient (PRC) and a volume; and simulating a first T2 relaxation time based on the 3D rough surface pore model. The method may further include determining a smooth surface pore model, with the same volume as the 3D rough surface pore model, and simulating a second T2 relaxation time based on the smooth surface pore model. The method may still further includes determining a T2 rough surface correction factor based on the first and the second T2 relaxation times, and forming a data pair comprising the pore roughness coefficient (PRC) and the T2 rough surface correction factor; and fitting a T2 correction curve to the data pairs.

    Abstract: A thermally-crosslinked membrane comprising a poly(1,2,4-triazole)-polymer that includes recurring hydroxyl-functionalized triazole units is described. The polymer has the structure of formula I: (I) wherein Ar describes an aromatic or heteroaromatic group, particularly with substituents and/or a multi-ring system, X describes a N group of the formula OR2, wherein R2 is a hydrogen atom or a group with 1 to up to 20 carbon atoms; Y describes a bond or a group with 1 to up to 20 carbon atoms, Z describes a group of the common formula —SO3R1 or —PO(OR1)2, wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkali metal, and q is a whole number between 0 and 4, wherein n is a natural number ≥10, wherein at least one crosslink is present between two of the hydroxyl-functionalized Ar moieties of the polymer. Methods of making the thermally-crosslinked membranes and separation methods using the thermally-crosslinked membranes are provided.
