    Abstract: The invention includes a method of retaining, shipping and assembling tappet cartridge assemblies, as well as a plastic sleeve for retaining the tappet cartridge assembly during shipping and assembly. In the method, a plastic sleeve retains an otherwise removable plunger in a tappet cartridge assembly body. The thus-retained cartridge assembly may be shipped and during subsequent assembly is positioned in alignment with a tappet follower. The tappet cartridge assembly is pushed through the retainer plastic sleeve into the tappet follower with such movement releasing the cartridge assembly from the plastic sleeve, permitting removal of the plastic sleeve.

    Abstract: An overhead guard is provided for counterweighted lift trucks of different lengths. The overhead guard has a top portion supported at its front end by a pair of laterally spaced front legs extending downwardly to attaching points on the front of the truck and the top portion is supported at its rear end by adjustably positioned laterally spaced rear posts. The top of the rear posts may be attached to different longitudinally spaced points on the upper portion of the guard and the bottom of the rear posts are attachable to support posts on the counterweight which is at different longitudinal positions on different length trucks.

    Abstract: A panel for elevated access floors is disclosed in which the panel is formed of reinforced expanded lightweight concrete. The reinforcing is provided by a grid including two arrays of parallel reinforcing rods which extend parallel to the associated panel edges and perpendicular to the rods of the other grid. A frame is provided by the grid around the two arrays. The grid is located adjacent to the lower surface of the body and divides the body into a plurality of square zones. Located in each zone, excepting the zones at the corners, is a pyramid-shaped cavity which extends from a base at the lower surface of the panel upwardly at about 45.degree. to an apex spaced from the upper surface of the panel. The presence of the pyramid-shaped cavities does not materially reduce the strength of the panel when compared to a similar panel without such cavities, but reduces the weight of the panel and the material required to manufacture the panel.

    Abstract: Optical filter elements each include a parallelogram-shaped substrate with parallel light entrance and light exit surfaces and parallel slanted sidewalls slanted at an angle, and an interference filter disposed on one or both of the light entrance surface and the light exit surface. The optical filter elements are bonded together at the slanted sidewalls to form the optical filter array. Light is filtered by illuminating the optical filter array at an angle θ equal to or corresponding to the angle of the slanted sidewalls. In some embodiments the angle of the slanted sidewalls corresponds to the angle-of-incidence θ by Snell's law.

    Abstract: A head and neck support (HANS) device comprises a yoke structure having a low collar, a left leg and a right leg extending respectively from a left side and a right side of the low collar, and a tether having a strap coupled to the low collar and a pair of catches connected to two ends of the strap.
