Abstract:
An impact tool for removing a constant velocity joint from a splined drive shaft is disclosed. The tool is a cast metal member comprising a lower shank, a central shaft, and a cup-shaped head. In use, the shank is inserted into an air hammer, and the cup-shaped head is placed over the drive shaft and in contact with a trunnion located within the open end of the constant velocity joint. The air hammer, when operated, delivers a significant impact force, through the tool, to the trunnion and separates the constant velocity joint from the drive shaft.
Abstract:
The present invention provides novel T type calcium channel inhibitors of formula (I), the use thereof in the treatment of a disease or condition in a mammal associated with influx of extracellular calcium via T type calcium channels, wherein R1 is C1-C4 alkyl, hydroxy, or C1-C4 alkoxy; Z is NH, NCH3, O, S, or CH2; Y is NH, O, or CH2 with the proviso that Y and Z are not the same; R2 is H, halo, NH2, C1-C4 alkyl, hydroxy, or C1-C4 alkoxy; m and n are independently selected from integers ranging from 1-5 with the proviso that m+n=an integer ranging from 2-9; and R3 is H, halo, NH2, C1-C4 alkyl, hydroxy, or C1-C4 alkoxy.
Abstract:
A system is provided comprising: a mobile device including an application to obtain purchase information from a physical receipt, wherein the purchase information includes a product identification and a purchase price; a monitoring server designed to receive the purchase information from the application on the mobile device, correlate the purchase information with a retailer, retrieve a retailer purchase protection policy associated with the retailer, wherein the retailer purchase protection policy contains limitations under which a credit can be authorized, monitor a current price for a product identified by the product information, and, when the current price for the product drops below the purchase price and the limitations of the retailer purchase protection policy have not been violated, send the purchase information to the retailer with as request for a credit.
Abstract:
A sentient system combines detection, tracking, and immersive visualization of a cluttered and crowded environment, such as an office building, terminal, or other enclosed site using a network of stereo cameras. A guard monitors the site using a live 3D model, which is updated from different directions using the multiple video streams. As a person moves within the view of a camera, the system detects its motion and tracks the person's path, it hands off the track to the next camera when the person goes out of that camera's view. Multiple people can be tracked simultaneously both within and across cameras, with each track shown on a map display. The track system includes a track map browser that displays the tracks of all moving objects as well as a history of recent tracks and a video flashlight viewer that displays live immersive video of any person that is being tracked.
Abstract:
An ejection seat arm flail injury prevention apparatus comprises a pair of rigid support arms on each side of the ejection seat that deploy outwardly to support a semi-rigid backstop substantially behind the ejection seat occupant. When the ejection seat is propelled out of the aircraft and is subjected to the windblast, the occupant's arms are allowed to flail in a rearward direction in the windblast until the occupant's arms impact the semi-rigid backstop. The backstop is semi-rigid in that it deforms sufficiently to enable the rearward motion of the occupant's arms to be arrested without impact injury, yet is sufficiently rigid to prevent the occupant's arms from rebounding off the backstop or striking the rigid support arms.
Abstract:
Various improvements relating to digital watermarking and related technologies are detailed, including methods that enhance security and functionality, and new articles including watermarked puzzles and marked DNA.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a blood analyte measurement system for the procurement of blood samples for measurement of blood properties such as analyte concentration or analyte presence. A blood access system can be coupled with a measurement system such as an electrochemical sensor, and can also be used with other measurement modalities. Embodiments of the present invention can facilitate accurate measurement of blood glucose by the clinician in a sterile manner. Embodiments of the present invention can also enable the calibration of the sensor at one or more calibration points. One desired analyte of measurement is glucose for the effective implementation of glycemic control protocols. Embodiments of the present invention can also be used for the measurement of other analytes such as arterial blood gases, lactate, hemoglobin, potassium and urea. Additionally, embodiments of the present invention can function effectively on a variety of blood access points and specifically enables glucose monitoring in an existing arterial line that is already in place for hemodynamic monitoring. The present invention does not consume a significant amount of blood. Some embodiments of the present invention can re-infuse the blood into the patient, which can facilitate operation of the system in a sterile manner.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating a low frequency quartz resonator includes metalizing a top-side of a quartz wafer with a metal etch stop, depositing a first metal layer over the metal etch stop, patterning the first metal layer to form a top electrode, bonding the quartz wafer to a silicon handle, thinning the quartz wafer to a desired thickness, depositing on a bottom-side of the quartz wafer a hard etch mask, etching the quartz wafer to form a quartz area for the resonator and to form a via through the quartz wafer, removing the hard etch mask without removing the metal etch stop, forming on the bottom side of the quartz wafer a bottom electrode for the low frequency quartz resonator, depositing metal for a substrate bond pad onto a host substrate wafer, bonding the quartz resonator to the substrate bond pad, and removing the silicon handle.
