    Abstract: A solid phase microextraction device is disclosed, including a substrate having at least one planar surface, a sorbent layer disposed on at least a portion of the at least one planar surface, a tapering tip extending from the substrate, a receptacle mount configured for removable attachment to an emplacement of a receiving device, and a clocking feature configured for fixing a radial orientation of the at least one planar surface with respect to the receiving device. A solid phase microextraction device repository is disclosed including a wall surrounding a chamber, a plurality of orifices disposed in the wall configured to receive and retain the device, and a plurality of clocking feature interfaces disposed in the wall. A solid phase microextraction device manipulator is disclosed, including a manipulator shaft, an emplacement configured to removably engage a receptacle mount, an electrically conductive contact disposed at the emplacement, an ejector, and a clocking feature interface.

    Abstract: A crescent PLOT column is disclosed, including a capillary column having an inlet, an outlet, a bore, and an inner surface surrounding the bore and extending between the inlet and the outlet. A layer of particles is localized on a radial portion of the inner surface. The layer of the particles includes a radial thickness decreasing from a center of the radial portion to a periphery of the radial portion, forming a crescent shape in a radial frame of reference. A method for preparing the crescent PLOT column is disclosed, including loading the capillary column with a fluid including a carrier and particles such that the fluid is contained within the capillary column. The capillary column and the fluid contained within the capillary column are subjected to a centrifugal force. The carrier is removed, and a layer of the particles is localized on the radial portion of the inner surface.

    Abstract: A device for dispensing liquid material is disclosed having an ampoule with at least four storage lumens, a mixing tip coupled to a distal end of the storage lumens, and an outlet lumen in fluid communication with storage lumens via the mixing tip. The at least four storage lumens extend axially along the length of an ampoule body, and the mixing tip has at least four gasket seats formed therein, each gasket seat corresponding to one of the storage lumens. The device also includes a first fluid provided in one of the storage lumens and a second fluid having a characteristic different from the first fluid provided in another of the storage lumens. Each of the storage lumens has a proximal gasket sealing the fluids from a proximal end of the ampoule and a distal gasket sealing the fluids from a distal end of the ampoule.

    Abstract: A solid phase microextraction device is disclosed, including a substrate having a planar surface and a sorbent layer disposed on the planar surface. The planar surface is defined by a base edge, a spray edge disposed distal across the substrate from the base edge, the spray edge including a tapering tip extending away from the base edge, a first lateral edge extending from the base edge to the tapering tip, and a second lateral edge extending from the base edge to the tapering tip, the second lateral edge being disposed distal across the substrate from the first lateral edge. The sorbent layer extends a sampling length from the spray edge toward the base edge and includes sorbent particles. A method for forming the solid phase microextraction device is disclosed, including applying the sorbent layer on the planar surface utilizing at least one of screen printing, stencil printing, or additive manufacturing.
