Abstract: Provided is a composition comprising an aqueous medium, and further comprising, dispersed in the aqueous medium: (a) particles (a) that comprise a maleated polyolefin (a), and (b) particles (b) that comprise an acrylic polymer (b), wherein the acrylic polymer (b) comprises, by weight based on the solid weight of the acrylic polymer (b): (i) 0.1% to 10% polymerized units of hydroxyl functional acrylic monomer, (ii) 1% to 20% polymerized units of carboxyl functional monomer, and (iii) 70% to 98.9% polymerized units of one or more additional monomer (iii) selected from the group consisting of acrylic monomers, styrenic monomers, and mixtures thereof, wherein the maleated polyolefin (a) is present in an amount of 1% to 19% by weight based on the sum of the solid weights of maleated polyolefin (a) and acrylic polymer (b). Also provided is a method of binding fibers using the composition.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing an aqueous dispersion of acrylate-siloxane copolymer particles as described herein. The polymer particles comprise structural units of an acrylate monomer; an acid monomer; and a siloxane acrylate monomer of formula I: where R, R1, R2, Y and x are as defined herein. The method provides an efficient way to prepare a high solids content aqueous dispersion of siloxane-acrylate hybrid copolymers with efficient incorporation of siloxane acrylate monomers, low residual monomer, and low generation of unwanted coagulum. The dispersion is useful for forming coatings with improved hydrophobicity, stain resistance, and aesthetic/haptic properties compared with conventional all-acrylic compositions.

Abstract: Water-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising (a) an acrylic emulsion having a glass transition temperature of less than or equal to 20° C., (b) optionally, a dispersant or a silane-containing compound, and (c) an ethylene or propylene copolymer emulsion. Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a coated film may be made by a process that may include applying an uncured polyurethane precursor between a polyolefin film and a release liner such that a first surface of the release liner is in contact with the uncured polyurethane precursor, curing the uncured polyurethane precursor to form a cured polyurethane layer positioned between the polyolefin film and the release liner, and removing the release liner to form the coated film comprising the polyolefin film and the cured polyurethane layer. The first surface of the release liner may have an optical finish. The curing may impart an optical finish to the cured polyurethane layer substantially similar to the optical finish of the first surface of the release liner.
