    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for reducing an amount of glass filaments separating from pellets comprising a thermoplastic polymer sheath intimately surrounding the glass filaments. The method can include transporting the pellets through a piping system and/or by a vibrating conveyor means. The pellets have a length of at least 13 mm. The amount of glass filaments separating from the pellets when such pellets are subjected to repetitive mechanical loads in transportation is reduced as compared other pellets subjected to the same repetitive mechanical load, such that blocking caused by the glass filaments within the pellet transport system is reduced or eliminated as compared to transporting pellets having a length of less than or equal to 12.1 mm.

    Abstract: The method disclosed herein relates to two stage catalytic processes for converting syngas to acetic acid, acrylic acid and/or propylene. More specifically, the method described and claimed herein relate to a method of producing acrylic acid and acetic acid comprising the steps of: a) providing a feedstream comprising syngas; b) contacting the feedstream with a first catalyst to produce a first product stream comprising C2-C3 olefins and/or C2-C3 paraffins; and c) contacting the first product stream with oxygen gas and a second catalyst, thereby producing a second product stream comprising acrylic acid and acetic acid, wherein there is no step for separating the components of the first product stream before the first product stream is contacted with the second catalyst.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of polypropylene having: a molecular weight of 450,000-950,000, a molecular weight distribution of 3-6, and xylene soluble content of 2-6 wt %, by converting propylene into the polypropylene without pre-polymerization in the presence of a polymerization catalyst under a condition where the volume ratio of H2 to propylene is at most 0.0020, wherein the catalyst comprises a catalyst component and a co-catalyst, wherein the catalyst component is obtained by a process wherein a compound with formula Mg(OAlk)xCly wherein x is larger than 0 and smaller than 2, y equals 2−x and each Alk, independently, represents an alkyl group, is contacted with a titanium tetraalkoxide and/or an alcohol in the presence of an inert dispersant to give an intermediate reaction product and wherein the intermediate reaction product is contacted with titanium tetrachloride in the presence of an internal donor.
