Abstract:
An electronic camera comprising an image sensor configured to capture an electronic image and a shutter mechanism. The electronic camera further comprises a controller configured to control the shutter mechanism and the image sensor. The controller comprising a processor and a memory having computer-readable code embodied therein which, when executed by the processor, causes the controller to: open the shutter mechanism, allow light to reach the image sensor for an exposure, automatically cause the image sensor to capture a first digital image of a scene using a first capture setting and automatically cause the image sensor to capture a second digital image of the scene using a second capture setting. The first capture setting includes a first value and the second capture setting includes a second value respectively of at least one of an aperture parameter, a shutter speed parameter, an ISO sensor gain parameter.

Abstract:
Reminder mechanisms for driver handheld mobile devices are provided to provide an alarm to prevent children being left in a vehicle by mistake by a child caregiver for stopping hot vehicle deaths of children due to heat strokes. A wireless in-vehicle reminder device system comprises a wireless in-vehicle reminder device having a housing including a plug to snugly insert into a socket or a port of a vehicle to connect to a power source of the vehicle. The wireless in-vehicle reminder device includes a first wireless transceiver configured to communicate on a first wireless link with a first wireless module of a handheld mobile device and a reminder mechanism configured to provide a reminder in a form of an alarm signal to the handheld mobile device over the first wireless link in response to a warning event detected in the vehicle. The wireless in-vehicle reminder device system further comprises a reminder application (APP) installed on the handheld mobile device and associated with the reminder mechanism to provide at least one of an audio warning and a visual warning from the handheld mobile device in response to the alarm signal.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention relate a hybrid hardware and software implementation of transactional memory accesses in a computer system. A processor including a transactional cache and a regular cache is utilized in a computer system that includes a policy manager to select one of a first mode (a hardware mode) or a second mode (a software mode) to implement transactional memory accesses. In the hardware mode the transactional cache is utilized to perform read and write memory operations and in the software mode the regular cache is utilized to perform read and write memory operations.
Abstract:
Lock-out mechanisms for driver handheld mobile devices are provided to prevent operation of one or more functions of handheld mobile devices by drivers when operating vehicles based on device location data and device motion data within a vehicle by wirelessly communicating with at least one wireless station access point located inside of the vehicle. The lock-out mechanisms disable the ability of a handheld mobile device to perform certain functions, such as texting or browsing, while one is driving. In one embodiment, a handheld mobile device may provide a lock-out mechanism without requiring any modifications or additions to a vehicle by using a motion analyzer, a mobile device position locator and a lock-out mechanism. In other embodiments, the handheld mobile device may provide a lock-out mechanism with modifications or additions to the vehicle, including the use of wireless signals transmitted by the vehicle or by a wireless station access point disposed within the vehicle.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and system for publishing subscriptions in a publish-subscribe system in accordance with subscription groups. Embodiments may include (i) determining a consumption characteristic by which each of a plurality of subscribers in a publish-subscribe system consumes a subscription published by a publisher; (ii) identifying the subscribers whose consumption characteristics satisfy a specified similarity criterion; (iii) defining a plurality of subscription groups, each of which includes subscriptions of those of the subscribers whose consumption characteristics satisfy the specified similarity criterion; and (iv) transmitting the subscriptions to the subscribers in accordance with the subscription groups. Embodiments may also include moving a subscription of the subscriber, from a first subscription group having subscriptions of those of the subscribers whose consumption characteristics correspond to a first specified similarity criterion, to a second subscription group having subscriptions of those of the subscribers whose consumption characteristics correspond to a second specified similarity criterion.
Abstract:
This application relates to thiophene azo carboxylate dyes for use as hueing agents, laundry care compositions comprising such dyes that may serve as hueing agents, processes for making such dyes and laundry care compositions and methods of using the same. The aforementioned dyes contain a formally charged moiety and are generally comprised of at least two components: at least one chromophore component and at least one polymeric component. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to ultraviolet light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. Such dyes are advantageous in providing a hueing effect, for example, a whitening effect to fabrics, while not building up over time and causing undesirable blue discoloration to the treated fabrics. Such dyes are also generally stable to bleaching agents used in laundry care compositions.
Abstract:
Computer program products, methods, systems, etc. for generating an animated preview of a number of images are disclosed. A selection of a group of images is received. A set of digital images from the group of images are identified as being representative of the group. At least some portion of the identified set of representative digital images from the group is then used to create an animated image. The animated image serves as a preview of the group of images, such that, when a user browses the images and sees the preview associated with a corresponding folder or directory, the user is able to quickly and easily associate the images in the group with a particular event and identify contents of the folder or directory.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention includes a translation lookaside buffer (TLB) to store entries each having a translation portion to store a virtual address (VA)-to-physical address (PA) translation and a second portion to store bits for a memory page associated with the VA-to-PA translation, where the bits indicate attributes of information in the memory page. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes electronically detecting a gesture of a user listening to a speaker via a communication device, and generating an audible and/or visual response that corresponds to the gesture. The audible and/or visual response is then communicated to the speaker. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
