Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a recording apparatus and a reproducing apparatus which change a picture compression rate depending upon a picture quality of a source which a user desires to retain, thereby a tape storage space being secured. A video-data compression rate N used by a 1:N video-data compression encoder 3 and a 1:N video-data compression decoder 6 is changed depending upon a picture quality set by a device 5 for setting a picture quality that a user desires. A tape travel speed of an archive VTR 4 is changed in response to the picture compression rate. Thus, an amount of a tape travel is optionally set depending upon a level of the picture quality. Therefore, it is possible to optionally select a tape storage space in response to the level of the picture quality.

Abstract:
An optical transmitter converts serial hi-vision digital signals sent from a transmitting side peripheral device over a coaxial cable into serial digital optical signals to transmit the resulting signals over an optical fiber. An optical receiver receives the serial digital optical signals sent from the optical transmitter over the optical fiber to convert the signals into serial hi-vision digital signals to transmit the converted signals over a receiving side coaxial cable to a receiving side peripheral device. This enables transmission of digital signals to the receiving side peripheral device with suppressed signal deterioration without requiring a complex structure.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for use with a video tape having a longitudinal track in which an address signal is recorded and successive slant tracks in which a video signal and an information signal are recorded at predetermined intervals; a magnetic head unit reproduces the video signal, the information signal, and the address signal. The information signal is applied to a pulse generator for generating a control pulse signal, and an address indication circuit provides an address indication in response to the address signal or the control pulse signal. A control circuit is provided for coupling one or the other of the address signal and the control pulse signal to the address indication circuit selectively in response to the speed of movement of the tape.
Abstract:
A servo circuit is provided for use with a reproducing apparatus wherein an information signal is reproduced from an elongated slant track formed on a tape which is wrapped on the periphery of a guide drum having a rotary head. The servo circuit includes a circuit for detecting an intermediate point of the length of the slant track and generating a timing signal at the detection of the intermediate point and a circuit for comparing the timing signal with a reference pulse to generate a control signal. A relative position of the slant track to the rotary head is controlled in accordance with the control signal.
Abstract:
A machining simulation apparatus is arranged in a machine tool having a tool holding mechanism, a workpiece holding mechanism, a drive mechanism and a numerical controller, and provided with: an actual CCD camera for imaging a tool held by the tool holding mechanism and the workpiece holding mechanism not holding a workpiece to generate actual image data; a model data update processing section for generating model data relating to when moving the holding mechanisms based on the operation command received from the numerical controller and the model data of the holding mechanisms, tool and workpiece; a virtual image generation processing section for generating virtual image data of the tool and workpiece based on the generated model data; and a rendering processing section for generating composite image data by superimposing the virtual image on the actual image, and displaying the composite image data on a screen display device.
Abstract:
In a machine tool controller (1): a position control unit (12) controls, based on an operational signal input from without during manual operation, a moving body's move-to point and moving speed; a memory (13) stores data modeling the moving body and any potentially interfering machine-tool structure; a travel-area checking unit (17) defines in the modeled structure speed-control regions obtained by displacing the structure's contour, generates, based on the defined speed control regions and on current moving-body position, data modeling the moving body as moved into its current position, to check whether the moving body will travel within a speed control region, and if so, sends to the position control unit a speed limit predefined for that speed control region. The position control unit controls the moving body to travel at speed limit if the operational-signal-directed moving speed exceeds the speed limit.

Abstract:
The computer of the present invention is provided with a main body on which keys to be operated by the user are disposed and a display unit that displays an image in accordance with each operation executed for the main body. Each key disposed on the main body is composed of its body having a key top and a light accumulator recess opened in the key top. The light accumulator recess is formed in a manner indicative of the character or symbol associated with such key. The light accumulator recess has embedded in it a light accumulating material such that the character or symbol associated with the key is illuminated by the residual light emission of the light accumulating material when the computer is operated in a location with little or no ambient light.
