The invention relates to a device for coating plates (6) in circulation. Said device comprises a transport system for transporting plates (6) and a feeding device (5) which can apply the coating material (8) to the surface of the plates. Means (7) for drying and/or hardening the coating material are provided next to the feeding device and above the plates. Contrary to state of the art devices, said inventive device comprises means which enable a material web (3) to pass between the transport elements for the transport of plates and means (7) for drying and/or hardening.

A method for coating a board of wood-based material, comprising the steps of providing a board of wood-based material; applying a first liquid coating; applying at least a second liquid coating onto the still wet first coating, so that a partial mixture of the coatings takes place; curing the applied coatings by means of radiation, wherein the coatings are selected so that the cured resultant coating has a hardness gradient wherein the hardness of the resultant coating decreases with increasing depth viewed from the surface of the resultant coating.

A method of at least one-sided coating of thin plates with a laminating material in a continuous operation comprises supplying a laminating material into a pressing gap, supplying a plurality of thin plates into the pressing gap, applying a pressure in the pressing gap to the thin plates and the laminating material so as to laminate the former with the latter, the supplying a plurality of thin plates including connecting neighboring ones of the thin plates with one another at their end sides facing toward one another with alignment of their upper and lower limiting surfaces so as to form a plate strand and then supplying the thusly formed plate strand into the pressing gap, and separating the plate strand into individual plates by dividing the plate strand in connecting regions of the latter.

The present invention relates to a method for coating a board of wood-based material, in particular a board of real wood, a plywood board or a board for parquet flooring, with a flowable plastics material. The method comprises applying the plastics material as a single, thick layer to the board of wood-based material (6) and creating an impressed structure by means of a material web (3) or a structure roller. After creating the impressed structure, the plastics material is cured to produce a wear-resistant surface.

Apparatus for application of coating color on a profiled edge or straight edge area of a workpiece, includes a motor-driven applicator roll for coating the workpiece, with the applicator roll having a diameter in the range of 200 to 300 mm for effecting a same coat texture on the narrow surfaces and on the primary surfaces of the workpiece when using a same coating material. The applicator is comprised of two structural assemblies which are connected by a quick-release coupling, with the first structural assembly being formed by a motor-and-gear unit and a mounting, and the second structural assembly being formed by the applicator roll, a plate supporting the shaft of the applicator roll, a doctor being positionally adjustable relative to the applicator roll and a pump for supplying coating color onto the applicator roll.
