A hardtop vehicle roof having at least two rigid roof parts, at least one of which can be adjusted, by a roof part kinematic system, between a closed position in which the vehicle interior is covered and in which the roof parts are arranged one behind the other in the direction of travel, and a storage position exposing the vehicle interior. The roof part kinematic system of the roof parts is arranged on the outside of at least one roof part facing away from the vehicle interior.
Abstract:
A convertible top for a vehicle includes a folding top frame. The folding top frame has a transversely extending front bow and a pair of oppositely disposed first and second side rails. The front bow has first and second ends. The folding top frame is movable between a closed position in which the folding top frame is longitudinally extended and a stored position in which the folding top frame is folded. The convertible top further includes first and second rotary joints each having a transversely extending swivel axis. The rotary joints respectively link the ends of the front bow to the side rails such that the front bow swivels about the transversely extending swivel axes of the rotary joints as the folding top frame moves between the closed and stored positions in order to reduce space requirements in the stored position of the folding top frame.

In a hardtop vehicle roof which is movable between a closed position, in which it covers a vehicle interior, and a storage position and which includes rigid roof shells which, in the closed position, are disposed end to end adjacent one another, at least one of the roof shells includes a center section and side sections which are pivotally connected to the center section and the center sections are displaced in the storage position of the roof shells upwardly relative to the respective side sections so as to be received within one of the roof shells thereby to reduce the volume required for the storage of the roof shells in the storage position thereof.

In a hardtop vehicle roof, which includes a front roof element and a rear roof element comprising side support members and a rear window panel, the front roof element is supported so as to be independently movable from the closed position to a storage position in a storage compartment disposed behind the vehicle roof so as to provide for the vehicle a Targa configuration, the rear window panel is independently movable into the storage compartment to provide for a Landau configuration and the front window is deposited in the storage compartment below the rear window panel while the side support members are retracted into side storage spaces to provide for a cabriolet configuration of the vehicle.

A folding top for a motor vehicle, which can be adjusted between a closed position and a deposited position, has a folding top linkage and a folding top covering held on the folding top linkage. The folding top linkage comprises a plurality of adjustable side bows and at least one roof bow extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. In order to improve the design possibilities for the depositing space of a folding top, it is provided that the length of the roof bow is variably adjustable as a function of the position of the folding top.

A hardtop vehicle roof includes roof parts and kinematic mechanisms. The parts are movable between a closed position covering a vehicle interior and a storage position exposing the interior. Each part has an exterior surface facing away from the interior in the closed position. Each part has first and second longitudinally extending sides. One of the mechanisms articulately connects the first sides of two of the parts together and the other of the mechanisms articulately connects the second sides of the two parts together to move the two parts between the closed and storage positions. In the closed position the two parts are arranged flush behind one another in the longitudinal direction with a first part arranged in front of a second two part. In the closed position the mechanisms are respectively arranged on sides of the exterior surface of the second part.

A soft-top for a motor vehicle includes a cover and a support frame. The support frame has at least two parts supporting the cover. The at least two parts are movable relative to one another between a clamped position and a folded position such that the support frame is movable between the clamped position in which the support frame is extended with the cover thereon and the folded position in which the support frame is folded with the cover thereon upon. An adjustment device adjusts the at least two parts to move the support frame with the cover thereon between the clamped and the folded positions.
