    Abstract: Waveform analysis of optical power measured by an optical time-domain reflectometer is further facilitated. A program is configured to cause a computer to operate as an information processing apparatus (10) including a controller (11) configured to acquire a waveform representing a temporal variation of returned light of pulsed light incident on an optical fiber, detect, based on the waveform, an event in the optical fiber, and cause the waveform and a pattern indicating the detected event to be displayed on a display (15). The controller (11) is configured to cause, as the pattern, an image including an indication of a travel direction of the pulsed light to be displayed on the display (15).

    Abstract: A magnetizing apparatus (1) includes an openable and closeable annular portion (3) formed by a magnet (2). The annular portion (3) includes a lock mechanism (4) configured to hold the annular portion (3) in a closed state. A magnetizing method includes an attaching step of placing an object inside the annular portion (3) by opening and closing the annular portion (3) and attaching the magnetizing apparatus (1) to the object by holding the annular portion (3) in a closed state with the lock mechanism (4), a moving step of moving the magnetizing apparatus (1) relative to the object in the axial direction of the annular portion (3) while the magnetizing apparatus (1) is attached to the object, and a detaching step, after the moving step, of releasing the lock mechanism (4) to detach the magnetizing apparatus (1) from the object.

    Abstract: Implementations described herein relate to periodically verifying aliases, e.g., by causing cross-platform clients to periodically verify aliases with cross-platform servers to which they are subscribed. In various implementations, a global discovery server (GDS) may be queried for a mapping between an alias and a connection string of an input-output (I/O) channel hosted by a distributed control node (DCN). A cross-platform client may be subscribed to the I/O channel by establishing a persistent network connection using the connection string. The persistent network connection may be used to obtain, from a local alias database of the DCN, a locally updated list of mappings between aliases and connection strings. A discrepancy may be identified between the locally updated list of mappings and the mapping between the alias and the connection string of the I/O channel hosted by the DCN. Based on the discrepancy, various remedial actions may be taken.

    Abstract: A residual chlorine meter for measuring the concentration of residual chlorine in sample water includes an indicator electrode and a counter electrode to be immersed in the sample water and a controller that measures the concentration of residual chlorine in the sample water based on a diffusion current flowing between the indicator electrode and the counter electrode in a case in which a voltage is applied between the indicator electrode and the counter electrode. The controller detects a degree of deterioration of a replaceable component of the residual chlorine meter based on a motor current, flowing through a motor that rotates the indicator electrode in the sample water, and/or the diffusion current.

    Abstract: It would be helpful to enable a frame controller to support multiple- slot-width modules. A measurement apparatus includes a plurality of slots to which one or more modules are connectable, a power supply manager configured to control powering the modules connected to the plurality of slots, and a display configured to display measurement signals acquired by the modules. The power supply manager is configured to, when an anomaly is detected at any slot of the plurality of slots, identify, as one or more target slots, all one or more slots to which a module connected to the slot with the detected anomaly is connected, and stop powering the identified target slots.
