    Abstract: Provided is an aqueous gelling agent composition, including: compound (A) represented by the general formula (1); and compound (B) represented by the general formula (2), wherein a mass ratio of compound (A) to compound (B), (A): (B), is from 95:5 to 85:15: where R1, R2, R8, R9, R10, R11, R15, and R16 each independently represent a hydrocarbon group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms, R3, R5, R7, R12, and R14 each independently represent a divalent hydrocarbon group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, R4, R6, and R13 each independently represent a divalent hydrocarbon group having 3 to 16 carbon atoms, a, e, j, and m each independently represent a number of 10 to 100, d represents a number of 100 to 500, and g represents a number of 1 to 10.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing a glyceryl ether-containing composition, the method including: a deodorization step for bringing a glyceryl ether-containing product selected from the group consisting of a monohexyl glyceryl ether-containing product, a monocyclohexyl glyceryl ether-containing product and a mixture thereof into contact with water vapor in an environment having a reduced pressure of 0.10 kPa or more and 10 kPa or less for 60 minutes or more and 600 minutes or less; and an addition step for adding 0.05 to 0.30 parts by mass of an antioxidant containing d-α-tocopherol to 100 parts by mass of the glyceryl ether-containing product, and also provides a glyceryl ether-containing composition containing specific amounts of a specific glyceryl ether and an antioxidant containing d-α-tocopherol.

    Abstract: The present invention is a urethane-type polymer obtained by a reaction of: a monohydroxy compound (A) represented by Formula (1), R1C2H4—OmH   (1) wherein R1 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 24 to 36 carbon atoms, and m represents a number ranging from 0 to 1000; a polyethylene glycol (B) represented by Formula (2), HOC2H4—OnH   (2) wherein n represents a number ranging from 2 to 1000; a monoglyceryl ether compound (C) represented by Formula (3), wherein R2 represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 5 to 12 carbon atoms; and an isocyanate compound (D) represented by Formula (4), R3NCO]q   (4) wherein R3 represents a hydrocarbon group having 4 to 13 carbon atoms, and q represents the number 2 or 3. This urethane-type polymer can be used as a urethane-type viscosity modifier excellent in long-term storage stability, similarly to alkali thickening-type viscosity modifiers, while having characteristics similar to those of existing urethane-type viscosity modifiers.
