Abstract: An airbag device that is stowed in the instrument panel of a vehicle in order to protect an occupant in a passenger seat and includes an inflator for generating expansion gas along with an airbag that inflates and deploys toward the occupant side via gas released from the inflator. The airbag is connected to the inflator and includes a main chamber positioned in front of the occupant properly seated during deployment and a sub chamber connected to at least one side of the main chamber. An inner vent through which gas flows, is formed at a boundary portion of the main chamber and the sub chamber. Furthermore, a check valve for opening and closing the inner vent is provided.

Abstract: A driver seat airbag device, provided with a steering wheel and an airbag module. The steering wheel includes a variant rim with a central upper part thereof omitted, and a cover member that covers the module installation surface at the center of the rim and the airbag module. The cover member includes a frontal region on an occupant side of the airbag module, an upper region on the upper side of the airbag module, and a tear line that enables the frontal region and the upper region to open up as cover doors. Abstract: A steering wheel is disclosed enabling suppressing unnecessary rocking of the airbag module during airbag activation and thereby ensures prescribed deployment performance of the airbag cushion. In detail, the steering wheel is provided with a core metal having a boss part configured so as to be mountable on a steering shaft and an airbag module movably provided with respect to the core metal and having an airbag cushion that can be expanded and deployed. The stopper of the core metal is separated from the stopper contact part of the airbag module in a non-activated state of the airbag, and comes into contact with the stopper contact part due to movement or deformation of the airbag module caused by expansion and deployment of the airbag cushion during activation of the airbag.
