Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer program products are provided for rebalancing the sizes of downlink (DL) association sets for component carriers having different time division duplex subframe configurations. A method is provided that includes determining DL subframes that are included in a DL association set for each of a plurality of component carriers. In an instance in which the number of acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) bits corresponding to the DL subframes included in the DL association sets for respective component carriers differ by at least a predetermined amount, the method modifies the number of ACK/NACK bits corresponding to the DL subframes that are included in the DL association sets for each of the respective component carriers. The method may also cause transmission of the ACK/NACK bits in accordance with the DL association sets, as modified, via the respective component carriers. Corresponding apparatus and computer program products are also provided.

Abstract: A method and apparatus which allows dynamic TDD UL/DL configuration that is able to adapt to an instantaneous traffic situation. The values of at least one uplink/downlink configuration indication bit in a predetermined region in a received downlink time division duplex subframe of wireless data transmission are examined. A time division duplex uplink/downlink configuration for a predetermined configuration period is determined based on the examined values.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer program products configure a sounding reference signal (SRS) for a segment carrier that serves as a contiguous bandwidth extension of a component carrier, such as a component carrier that is backwards compatible with prior releases of a mobile terminal. In the context of a mobile terminal, the method receives a triggering message that identifies respective configurations of the SRS for the component carrier and the associated segment carrier. The configuration of the SRS for the component carrier is different than the configuration of the SRS for the segment carrier. The method also causes the SRS to be transmitted in accordance with the respective configurations identified by the triggering message via uplink subframes of the component carrier and the segment carrier.

Abstract: A user equipment UE is configured with an integer value N which defines an effective data rate. The network sends to the UE a grant for uplink transmissions that comprises a resource indication field that allocates N channels each having a same predetermined uplink format and payload capacity. The UE sends N bit sequences on the respective N channels, each bit sequence comprising data and the same predetermined uplink format. In various embodiments: the network specifically configures the UE to receive the predetermined format of the grant; the grant may have an indicator whether the channels are for new data and for the MCS to use; the N channels may be in a same or in adjacent sub frames regardless of the value of N; and there is one MAC header for all the N channels which the network reads as a single MAC PDU.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided to manage handover procedures in a dual connection context. In the context of a method, a macro access point (MAP) may initiate a handover between a source and destination local area access point (LAAP) by causing a handover request to be transmitted to the destination LAAP. The method may further involve causing a handover command to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE), causing a data transfer inform message to be transmitted to the source LAAP, and receiving a UE context release message from the destination LAAP. In the context of another method, a LAAP may initiate a handover. The method may involve receiving a dual connection transfer request message from a source LAAP, receiving a dual connection transfer request acknowledge message from a destination LAAP and receiving a Path Switch Successful indication from a Mobility Management Entity.
