Abstract: Examples disclosed herein are relevant to improvements in connectors for bone conduction devices, particularly bone conduction auditory prostheses, to connect to an abutment. Disclosed examples include a connector assembly having a vibration conductor separate from a coupling. Examples can further include an adapter to modify a length of the connector assembly. Examples can further provide an angled connector assembly to modify an angle at which the connector assembly connects to an abutment.

Abstract: An external portion of an auditory prosthesis includes an external magnet that interacts with an implanted magnet to hold the external portion against the skin of a recipient. A magnetic component can be disposed proximate either or both of the external magnet or implanted magnet to channel the magnetic field associated therewith. The magnetic component can be moved relative to its associated magnet so as to adjust the magnetic field, and thus, the retention force between the magnets.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a hearing prosthesis, and more particularly to a hearing prosthesis with a rigidly coupled vibrating transducer. Systems and methods are also described for reducing a well-defined mechanical feedback generated by a transducer in a hearing prosthesis.

Abstract: Embodiments presented herein are generally directed to a perioperative implant cover configured to cover at least a portion of an implantable component during portions of the perioperative period (i.e., preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of surgery) in which the implantable component is susceptible to bacteria contamination. By covering the implantable component during these portions of the perioperative period, the cover reduces the possibility of bacteria contamination and subsequent perioperative colonization.

Abstract: Presented herein is a bone fixture for a medical prosthesis. The bone fixture includes a self-drilling threaded body that is configured to be inserted into a recipient's bone. The threaded body includes a bone removal mechanism configured to cut away parts of the bone that are in the path of the threaded body and to remove portions of the cut parts of the bone, sometimes referred to herein as bone fragments, from the hole. The bone fixture also comprises a coupling section that is attached to a proximal end of the threaded body. The coupling section is configured to be positioned external to the recipient's bone and includes a connector interface that is entirely/completely proximal to the threaded body.
