Abstract: A viewing angle switchable display module includes an organic light-emitting display (OLED) panel, a viewing angle switchable device disposed on the OLED panel, and a quarter wave plate disposed between the OLED panel and the viewing angle switchable device. The viewing angle switchable device includes an absorptive polarizer, a reflective polarizer, and an electrically controlled viewing angle switching element. A transmission axis of the reflective polarizer is parallel to a transmission axis of the absorptive polarizer. The electrically controlled viewing angle switching element is disposed between the absorptive polarizer and the reflective polarizer and includes two conductive layers and a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules. When there is a potential difference between the two conductive layers, an orthogonal projection of an optical axis of each of the liquid crystal molecules on the absorptive polarizer is parallel to or perpendicular to the transmission axis of the absorptive polarizer.

Abstract: A display device includes a view angle switching module and a display module. The view angle switching module includes a first polarizer and a view angle adjustment layer. The display module and the view angle switching module are overlapped. The display module includes a display layer and a second polarizer. The view angle adjustment layer is located between the first polarizer and the second polarizer. An average degree of polarization of the first polarizer for light with a wavelength falling within a first wavelength band is less than an average degree of polarization of the second polarizer for the light with the wavelength falling within the first wavelength band. The display device may provide a privacy function and images with good image quality.

Abstract: An anti-peeping control device includes two polarizers and a liquid crystal box disposed between the two polarizers. An included angle of 5 to 15 degrees is formed between the axial directions of the transmission axes of the two polarizers, or the axial directions of the transmission axes of the two polarizers are parallel to each other but not parallel and not perpendicular to any side edge of the polarizer. The axial directions of the transmission axes of the two polarizers are perpendicular or parallel to the alignment direction of the alignment layer of the liquid crystal box. The anti-peeping control device can use an electronic control method to switch the anti-peeping effect. A backlight module and display using the anti-peeping control device are also proposed.

Abstract: A backlight module including a light guide plate, a light source, an optical film, a diffusion sheet, a first prism sheet and a second prism sheet is provided. The light guide plate has a light incident surface and a light emitting surface connected to each other. The light source is disposed on a side of the light incident surface. The optical film is overlapped with the light emitting surface and has a plurality of optical microstructures facing the light emitting surface. The diffusion sheet is disposed between the light guide plate and the optical film. The first prism sheet and the second prism sheet are overlapped with the optical film and are positioned on a side of the optical film being far away from the light guide plate. A display apparatus adopting the backlight module is also provided.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a display device and an optical compensation module. The display device includes a light emitting display module and the optical compensation module. The optical compensation module is disposed on the light emitting display module along the transmission direction of an image beam emitted by the light emitting display module, and includes: a first polarizing layer and an optical compensation layer. The optical compensation layer is disposed between the light emitting display module and the first polarizing layer along the transmission direction of the image beam and has a first compensation area and a second compensation area which forms a pattern, wherein the phase compensation value of the first compensation area and the phase compensation value of the second compensation area are different. The display device and the optical compensation module have the effect of displaying the pattern on the display panel at a specific angle.

Abstract: An electronically-controlled viewing angle switching device, including a liquid crystal layer, a first electrode, a second electrode, a plurality of first insulation patterns, and a plurality of second insulation patterns is provided. The first electrode and the second electrode are respectively located at a first side and a second side of the liquid crystal layer. The first insulation patterns are located at the first side of the liquid crystal layer. The second insulation patterns are located at the second side of the liquid crystal layer. Each of the first insulation patterns is at least partially overlapped with the corresponding second insulation pattern. A display device adopting the electronically-controlled viewing angle switching device is also provided. The electronically-controlled viewing angle switching device and the display device provide a good anti-peed effect from a side viewing angle.

Abstract: The invention relates to an electrically controllable viewing angle switch device and a display apparatus. The switch device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer, spacers, a first alignment film, a second alignment film, a first polarizer, and a second polarizer and has a light transmission region. The second substrate is disposed opposite to the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer and the spacers are located between the first substrate and the second substrate in the light transmission region. The spacers are fixed on the first or second substrate. The first polarizer and the second polarizer are disposed on opposite sides of the liquid crystal layer. The axial directions of the transmission axis of the first polarizer and the transmission axis of the second polarizer are parallel or perpendicular to the alignment direction of the first alignment film and the second alignment film.

Abstract: A viewing angle limiting device, including a polymer substrate and a plurality of dye molecules, is provided. The dye molecules are dispersedly arranged in the polymer substrate. The dye molecules have a first absorption coefficient in a thickness direction of the polymer substrate. The dye molecules have a second absorption coefficient in a direction perpendicular to the thickness direction. A ratio of the first absorption coefficient to the second absorption coefficient is between 10 and 1000. A manufacturing method of the viewing angle limiting device and a display device including the viewing angle limiting device are also provided. The display device, the viewing angle limiting device, and the manufacturing method thereof provided by the invention have a large viewing angle filtering effect and have higher light transmittance in a viewing angle direction.

Abstract: A backlight module including a light guide plate, a light source, a prism sheet and a light absorbing sheet is provided. The light guide plate has a light incident surface, a light emitting surface connected to the light incident surface and a bottom surface opposite to the light emitting surface. At least one of the light emitting surface and the bottom surface of the light guide plate is disposed with a plurality of micro lens structures. The light source is disposed on a side of the light incident surface of the light guide plate. The prism sheet is overlapped with the light emitting surface of the light guide plate and has a plurality of prism structures facing the light emitting surface with an extending direction parallel to the light incident surface. The light absorbing sheet is disposed on a side of the bottom surface of the light guide plate.
