The method also includes providing, to an occupant of the vehicle, the plurality of routes and the total cost for each respective route of the plurality of routes.

Abstract: A method for starting a compression ignition engine having at least one cylinder with a reciprocating piston located therein, an intake valve configured to control the intake of air to an intake port of the cylinder and an exhaust valve configured to control the expulsion of gas from an exhaust port of the cylinder. The method includes the steps of: cranking the engine, conditioning intake air at the intake port of the cylinder to raise the temperature of air in the cylinder, controlling a valve timing the intake valve and/or the exhaust valve to allow the piston to compress the air within the cylinder, thereby increasing the temperature of the air within the cylinder, and injecting fuel into the cylinder when the air within the cylinder has been heated to a temperature sufficient to support compression ignition of a gasoline and air mixture within the cylinder.

Abstract: A system includes an exhaust system fluidly configured to define an exhaust stream. A sensor is arranged in the exhaust system and is configured to be exposed to the exhaust stream and accumulate particulate matter on the sensor. The sensor provides a signal that varies based upon an amount of particulate matter on the sensor. A control system is in communication with the sensor. The control system includes a controller configured to calculate a differential of a conductance signal related to the signal, compare consecutive differentials to identify an erroneous differential in an abnormal signal based upon an anomaly relating to the accumulation of the particulate matter, and reconstruct the abnormal signal by correcting the erroneous differential to produce a corrected, decimated conductance signal. The control system is configured to determine a total accumulated particulate matter adjusted for the anomaly.

The method further includes generating a signal to selectively instruct the adjustment of at least one of the vehicle speed control input, a torque demand corresponding to the vehicle speed control input, and the portion of the route based on the target thermal profile of the propulsion system inverter to improve inverter life.

Abstract: A method of quantifying a particulate matter in an exhaust stream includes the steps of accumulating a particulate matter on a sensor. The sensor provides a signal that varies based upon an amount of the particulate on the sensor. The sensor includes a measurement cycle that includes a deadband zone, followed by an active zone, which is followed by a regeneration zone. The particulate matter is calculated after an end of the deadband zone is reached and prior to an end of the measurement cycle.

The controller is further configured to communicate the target values of control parameters to the control subsystems.
