Abstract: A valve timing adjustment device having a phase adjustment unit including an input rotator, a driving rotator that rotates in conjunction with a crankshaft, a driven rotator that rotates in conjunction with a camshaft that changes a relative rotation phase between the driving rotator and the driven rotator. A controller is configured to perform a startup phase control when operation of the internal combustion engine is started, the startup phase control including setting the relative rotation phase to a predetermined initial phase, and perform a startup preparation control during a period after the internal combustion engine is stopped and before the startup phase control is performed, the startup preparation control including changing the relative rotation phase.

Abstract: A valve timing adjusting device adjusts an opening/closing timing of a first valve driven by a rotation of a first camshaft and an opening/closing timing of a second valve driven by a rotation of a second camshaft. The valve timing adjusting device includes a first driving circuit controlling a first motor configured to generate a torque to shift a rotation phase of the first camshaft and a second driving circuit controlling a second motor configured to generate a torque to shift a rotation phase of the second camshaft. A first switching element of the first driving circuit operates at a switching frequency that is different from that of a second switching element of the second driving circuit.

Abstract: A valve timing adjustment device includes a drive-side rotating body that rotates in conjunction with a crankshaft, a driven-side rotating body that rotates integrally with a camshaft, a speed reduction mechanism that transmits rotation while allowing relative rotation between the drive-side rotating body and the driven-side rotating body. The driven-side rotating body includes a fastening portion fastened to the end portion of the camshaft by a center bolt, a bearing portion that is located radially outward of the fastening portion and that axially supports the drive-side rotating body, and a fitting outer surface that is fitted to a regulating member on a side where an outer diameter of an axial contact surface with the other member on one side and the other side in the axial direction of the driven-side rotating body is large.

Abstract: A driven rotational body rotates relative to a driving rotational body to change a rotational phase therebetween and brings its driven-side stopper wall into contact with a driving-side stopper wall of the driving rotational body in the relative rotational direction. The planetary gear performs a planetary motion while being meshed with the driving rotational body and the driven rotational body to change the rotational phase. The driving rotational body includes a gear member, a cover member, and a fastening member. The gear member has the driving-side stopper wall and is meshed with the planetary gear. The cover member covers an accommodation space, in which the driven rotational body and the planetary gear are accommodated, together with the gear member. The fastening member axially fastens the gear member with the cover member.

Abstract: A valve timing adjustment device includes: a first rotatable body that is rotated about a rotational axis synchronously with one of a drive shaft and a driven shaft of an engine; and a second rotatable body that is rotated about the rotational axis synchronously with the other one of the drive shaft and the driven shaft. The first rotatable body includes: a fastening portion, a slide portion and a bearing portion. The fastening portion is fastened to the one of the drive shaft and the driven shaft. The bearing portion includes an outer peripheral surface that is opposed to an inner peripheral surface of the second rotatable body, and the bearing portion rotatably supports the second rotatable body. The fastening portion projects on one axial side of the slide portion and the bearing portion in an axial direction toward the one of the drive shaft and the driven shaft.
