Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for detecting cell site simulators are provided. An example method includes obtaining signal characteristics data including geolocation data, identifying a legitimate cell site in proximity to the geolocation of the user device based on the geolocation data, identifying a preestablished model stored in the user device, and the model is corresponding to the identified legitimate cell site and includes one or more predetermined expected features. The method further includes selecting the identified model, extracting one or more actual features from the signal characteristics data using the selected model, comparing the actual features with the predetermined expected features to determine a degree of matching of the actual features with the predetermined expected features, and in response to a determination that the degree of matching is below a predetermined threshold, indicating that the cell site is a suspicious cell site simulator.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for network slicing are provided. In one example, a method includes: selecting a first network slice and a second network slice both pertaining to a common data network, designating a first traffic flow to the first network slice and a second traffic flow to the second network slice, generating a first network slice profile including a first network identifier and first mapping information, generating a second network slice profile including a second network identifier and second mapping information, assigning the first network slice profile to the first traffic flow and the second network slice profile to the second traffic flow, and separating the first traffic flow from the second traffic flow on a user plane function (UPF) instance, based on the assigned first network slice profile and the second network slice profile.

Abstract: Systems and methods to utilize user device self-reported quality metrics and machine learning mechanisms to optimize management of user device mobility in a cellular network. Cells in the network obtain quality data for one or more user devices in communication with the cells, including channel-quality-indicator values, reference-signal-received-power values, and reference-signal-received-quality values. The quality data is processed by a machine learning mechanism to generate a separate quality report for each cell. In response to receiving a request to handover communications for a target user device, the quality reports are utilized to select a cell that is predicted to provide the best quality communications for the target user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for adaptive channel, beamforming, and traffic shaping management in a network including configuring an element management system to monitor, via a distribution unit (DU) and/or a central unit (CU) power and channel traffic at a plurality of cell sites in a network; applying, in response to a detection of a power outage at a cell site, at least one power saving schema including adaptive channel management, adaptive beam management, and/or adaptive traffic management, wherein the systems and methods incrementally reduce power consumption at the cell site by choking at least on channel based on a level of network traffic congestion. The systems and methods further limits users for congested channels, determines a relationship between power reduction as a result of the choking, arranges power to beamforming systems based on the choking, adjusts traffic of one or more applications, and move users of choked channels.

Abstract: Methods and systems for adaptive bandwidth application are provided. An example method includes generating multiple RAN slices of a network for multiple network consumers, selecting one or more of RAN slices and assigning the one or more RAN slices to each one of multiple network consumers, dividing a radio frequency spectrum into multiple radio frequency bands, assigning one or more of the multiple bands to each one of the multiple RAN slices, associating one or more QoS priority indicators to each one of the bands assigned to the RAN slices, allocating one or more allotments of the one or more bands to each RAN slice, monitoring continuously real-time bandwidth usage by each one of the multiple RAN slices, and adjusting automatically and adaptively a total bandwidth allocated to each RAN slice, according to the one or more QoS priority indicator associated with the RAN slice and a predetermined rule.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices dynamically allocate bandwidth parts in response to conditions at cell sites. An example process assigns a first plurality of slices and a second plurality of slices to communicate on a bandwidth of a cell site. The cell site operates at a first level of power consumption. A changed operating state is detected at the cell site, and the first plurality of slices is assigned to communicate on a bandwidth part of the cell site in response to detecting the changed operating state. The bandwidth part is a subset of the bandwidth. The cell site operates at a second level of power consumption in response to assigning the plurality of slices to communicate on the bandwidth part. The second level of power consumption is less than the first level of power consumption.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for adaptive bandwidth (BW) management configuring an element management control unit including a set of distribution/central units (DU/CU) for monitoring power and traffic loads at a plurality of cell sites in a network; communicating with a BW management unit coupled to the element management system to adapt BW for users at cell sites by moving users to a set of smaller bandwidth parts (BWPs) at a cell site in response to a set of conditions of AC power outages and reduced traffic loads detected by the BW management unit, and in response to at least one of the detected conditions, instructing based on data from the DU/CU to the BW management unit to move user traffic to a designated lower BWP of the set of smaller BWPs at the cell site while shutting down other BWPs at the cell site to save the power of an operating cell site.
