Abstract: An emulsion is disclosed which comprises a non-aqueous phase comprising a solid silicone resin and a siloxane carrier vehicle having an average of at least one silicon-bonded functional group per molecule and capable of carrying the solid silicone resin, an aqueous phase comprising water, and a surfactant, wherein the emulsion is substantially free from organic solvents. Various methods relating to the emulsion and end uses thereof are also disclosed. A composition comprising the emulsion and an organic binder, as well as related methods, are further disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising a binder comprising one or more siloxane polymers, silicone resins, silicone based elastomers, and mixtures thereof, wherein said binder optionally comprises one or more cross-linker components comprising a silane and/or a siloxane containing silicon-bonded hydrolysable groups; and a hydrophilic powder and/or gel selected from one or more amorphous, porous hydrophilic silica (s) having a thermal conductivity at 20° C. and atmospheric pressure of 0.001 to 0.15 W/m·K and a surface area (SBET) of between 200 and 1500 m2/g, one or more hydrophilic aerogel (s) and mixtures thereof, wherein the binder is a solution, an emulsion, or a dispersion in water. The invention also relates to the use of the composition as or in thermally or acoustically insulating materials and to coated substrates, products and articles made by using the composition.

Abstract: A crosslinkable composition is useful for preparing a skin contact adhesive or a coating on a substrate. The crosslinkable composition includes (A) a polyurethane-polyorganosiloxane copolymer and (B) a curing catalyst. The skin contact adhesive prepared by crosslinking the crosslinkable composition is useful in applications such as adhesives for medical tapes, adhesives for wound dressings, adhesives for prosthetics, ostomy appliance adhesives, adhesives for medical monitoring appliances, adhesives for scar therapy treatments, adhesives for cosmetic patches, and transdermal drug delivery systems.

The invention also relates to the use of said composition as or in thermally or acoustically insulating materials and to coatings, products and articles made therefrom.
