Abstract: An electrical protection component having a short-circuit device is disclosed. In an embodiment an electrical protection component includes a short-circuiting device including a surge arrester including electrodes and a thermal short-circuiting device including a clip, a first section of which is snapped onto the surge arrester and a second section of which comprises a short-circuiting link, wherein the short-circuiting link of the clip is spaced apart from at least one of the electrodes by a fusible element, wherein the short-circuiting link electrically conductively connects two of the electrodes to one another when the fusible element melts, and wherein the fusible element has a melting point of at least 300 degrees Celsius.

Abstract: A method is provided for manufacturing a plurality of arresters as a composite structure. A ceramic carrier having a plurality of holes and two electrode bodies are provided. The ceramic carrier and the two electrode bodies are assembled into a base under gas atmosphere. The ceramic carrier is located between the electrode bodies. The electrode bodies are soldered to the ceramic carrier. The base body is separated into a plurality of gas-filled arresters is carried out. In addition, a gas-filled arrester is provided which has a height of maximal 2 mm and electrode surfaces of maximal 1.2×1.2 mm2.

Abstract: A spark gap arrangement includes a triggerable spark gap and a trigger circuit. The spark gap arrangement also includes a first and a second charge storage device, a voltage limiting component, a trigger diode, a triggerable arresting element, and a transformer. The voltage limiting component and the trigger diode are designed to relay an input pulse in a specified voltage range and charge the first charge storage device. Furthermore, the trigger circuit is designed such that the triggerable arresting element is connected via the first charge storage device dependent on the voltage and discharges the second charge storage device via a primary side of the transformer.

Abstract: A multiple spark-gap arrester is disclosed. In an embodiment the arrester includes a series connection of a plurality of spark gaps between a first potential node and a reference-ground potential node and a trigger circuit having an input and an output, the input being coupled to a second potential node between two adjacent spark gaps of the plurality of spark gaps, and the output being coupled to at least one of the spark gaps between the second potential node and the reference-ground potential node, wherein the trigger circuit is configured, when at least one spark gap between the first potential node and the second potential node is ignited, to supply a trigger signal for the at least one of the spark gaps between the second potential node and the reference-ground potential node.

Abstract: An arrester and a method for producing an arrester are disclosed. In an embodiment the method includes providing at least three green layers, wherein each layer includes at least one green sheet, introducing at least one hole into a first layer and applying an electrically conductive material for forming inner electrodes to a second layer and a third layer. The method further includes laminating the layers to form a green stack, wherein the first layer is arranged between the second layer and the third layer, separating the green stack into individual components and compacting the individual components, wherein laminating the layers and compacting the individual components are effected in a single temperature process by co-firing.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing of an electrode of a surge arrester, an electrode and a surge arrester are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes positioning an electrode body in an electrochemical cell with and an electrolyte solution for a nickel deposition. The electrolyte solution includes at least one or more of magnesium sulphate, sodium sulphate and sodium chloride and electrolytically coating the electrode body with a coating to form the electrode for the surge arrester. The coating has nickel and the electrolyte solution is configured such that a surface of the coating includes a reduced wettability.
