    Abstract: The electrical connector includes an insulative housing for receiving the CPU therein with a plurality of contacts retained thereto, a fastener located beside the housing, and a load plate pivotally mounted upon the fastener and covering the housing for holding the CPU in position. The load plate includes opposite first and second sides and opposite first and fourth sides to commonly form a center opening. The first and second sides form first protrusions with corresponding first pressing sections, and the third and fourth sides forms second protrusions with corresponding second pressing sections. During operation, both the first pressing sections and the second pressing sections act upon the CPU.

    Abstract: A fastening mechanism for retaining a heat sink upon the CPU includes a fastening seat surrounding the connector, and a pair of fastening clips. The fastening seat includes four alignment posts at four corners, and the pair of fastening clips are attached at two corresponding diagonal corners. Each fastening clip includes a mounting section secured to the corresponding post, a latching section for temporarily holding the heat sink, and a resilient arm for upwardly urging the heat sink. Each alignment post is equipped with a screw nut and a coil spring so as to reinforce the downward pressing forces against the heat sink for assuring reliable connection between the CPU and the contacts of the electrical connector for better electrical transmission and intimate contact between the CPU and the heat sink for efficient heat dissipation.

    Abstract: A clip for use with an electronic package, includes a frame structure with a pair of first side bars and a pair of second side bars commonly defining a receiving cavity. An ejection device is formed on one first side bar, including a stopper/kicker and a presser interlinked with each other in a co-movement manner. A latch is located around the ejection device so as to cooperate with the stopper/kicker to secure the electronic package therebetween in a vertical direction and retain the electronic package in the receiving cavity to result in an electrical assembly.

    Abstract: An electrical connector assembly is used for connecting to a chip module. The electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and a dust-proof cover. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of terminals and a shell covering the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a second cavity for receiving the chip module. The shell defines an opening corresponding to the second cavity. The dust-proof cover includes a dust-proof portion covering the opening and a pair of inclined pushing portions protruding from the dust-proof portion to the second cavity. The dust-proof cover has a plurality of supporting portions for supporting the dust-proof portion. The supporting portions separate from the shell when the inclined pushing portion is pushed by the chip module, and the dust-proof cover separates from the electrical connector.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing retaining a plurality of contacts therein and surrounded by a metallic seat. A clip includes a frame with corresponding four walls to commonly form a receiving cavity to receive the electronic package therein, and each wall forms a pressing section to downwardly press an upward surface of the electronic package. A pair of latches are formed on a lower side of the frame to cooperate with the pressing sections of the walls to retain electronic package within the receiving cavity to be wholly a sub-assembly for being commonly received within the electrical connector. The clip includes a releasing handle to actuate the corresponding latch, and the releasing handle is positioned in an opening of the seat and intimately above the printed circuit board to function as a foolproof mechanism for loading the electronic package in a right orientation.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a pair of housing units side by side arranged with each other and equipped with the corresponding contacts, respectively. A pair of protection caps are assembled to the corresponding housing units horizontally in opposite directions, respectively. A linking part is mounted upon the pair of caps with a rigid suction region thereof in a symmetrical manner. The linking part is downwardly mounted upon the pair of caps with corresponding standoffs to space the main part of the linking part from the caps in the vertical direction so as not to block the related heat dissipation.
