Abstract: An independent loading mechanism for use with a CPU connector includes a metallic frame cooperating with a back plate module to sandwich a printed circuit board therebetween. A plurality of screw nut units are provided around the four corners of the frame. A plurality of hollow spacers are secured to the corresponding through holes of the frame so as to allow the corresponding screw nut units moveable relative to the frame along the vertical direction within a range larger than a thickness of the frame, thus avoiding improper interference between the screw nut units and the corresponding screw posts of the back plate module during sequential screwing.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways and a plurality of contacts received therein. The housing includes opposite mating surface and mounting surface in the vertical direction. The contact includes an upstanding section retained in the passageway with a spring arm extending from an upper region of the upstanding plate and above the mating surface, and a mounting leg extending from a lower region of the upstanding plate around the mounting surface. The spring arm forms a contacting section around a free end thereof. One additional layer structure extends backwardly from a front end of the spring arm in a compressive folded manner and intimately abuts against the spring arm in the vertical direction.

Abstract: A plurality of contact are received within the corresponding passageways of the insulative housing of an electrical connector, respectively. Each contact has juxtaposed first body and second body angled with each other via a linking section connected therebetween. A resilient spring arm extends upwardly from the first body, and includes a wide plate section adjacent to the first body, a bulged contacting section at a top thereof, and a narrow connecting section therebetween. The spring arm is asymmetric with regard to a centerline of the spring arm for avoiding interference with a standoff around a neighboring passageway in a neighboring row.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways and a plurality of contacts received therein. The contact includes an upstanding section retained in the passageway with a spring am extending from an upper region of the upstanding plate and above the mating surface, and a mounting leg extending from a lower region of the upstanding plate around the mounting surface. The spring arm forms a contacting section around a free end thereof. The contact further includes an extension extending from the upstanding section and optimally above the mating surface so as to be located between the spring arm and the mating surface in the vertical direction. The extension and the spring arm are partially overlapped in the vertical direction and results in the capacitance effect therebetween, thus lowering impedance.

Abstract: An electrical connector is essentially composed of a pair of half housings opposite to each other in a longitudinal direction to commonly form a receiving cavity for receiving a CPU. Each half housing is equipped with a plurality of contacts with corresponding contacting sections upwardly extending into the receiving cavity for mating with the CPU. A single pick-up cap includes a plate with a plurality of claws adapted to be engaged within locking recesses in exterior sides of the half housings, a plurality of positioning blocks adapted to extend into the receiving cavity so as to cooperate with the claws to sandwich the periphery wall of the housing therebetween in the longitudinal direction for securing the half housings to the pick-up cap. Therefore, both the pair of half housings may be grasped by the single pick-up cap for mounting and soldering to PCB at the same time.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a terminal module including a base, a mating tongue, a row of first terminals, a row of second terminals and a shielding plate. Terminals comprise contacting portions, middle portions and leg portions. Each row of terminals comprises three pairs of differential signal terminals, and grounding terminals and power terminals. The shielding plate defines a first row of openings corresponding to the contacting portions, a second row of openings and third row of openings both corresponding to the middle portion. The first row of openings are aligned with the contacting portions of the first and second terminals in a vertical direction and the second row of openings are at least aligned with gaps between every two adjacent terminals while the shielding plate defines no opening corresponding to the middle portions of the three pair of differential signal terminals so as improve shielding performance.

Abstract: A CPU socket has an insulative housing equipped with two groups of contacts of different pitches from each other wherein either each group of contacts are arranged with the corresponding contacting arms extending in opposite directions to counterbalance the imposed/reaction forces itself or the two group of contacts are arranged with the corresponding contacting arms extending in opposite direction to somewhat counterbalance the imposed/reaction force during receiving a CPU therein, and or in a mixed manner, i.e., one group of contact with the corresponding contacting arms in the same direction while the other of contacts with the corresponding contacting arms extending in both opposite directions to achieve the total reaction forces in a substantial balanced manner.

Abstract: An electrical assembly includes a system board and a power board closely arranged with each other in a parallel relation. An electronic package and a system connector are mounted upon an upper surface of the system board. A power connector and a set of connector units are mounted on an undersurface of the power board. Another set of connector units are formed on an upper surface of the electronic package. A heat sink is positioned upon the power board and contacts the electronic package via a center opening in the power board. After assembled, the power supply is provide through connection between the two sets of the connector units and that between the system connector and the power connector.

Abstract: A pair of locking arms unitarily extends forwardly from opposite inner edges of the transverse bar in a perpendicular manner and are spaced from two opposite side edges of the shielding plate but abutting against the corresponding side edge of the tongue portion. A front end region of each locking arm further grasps a front edge of the tongue portion and optionally connected to the corresponding grounding terminals. The two opposite ends of the transverse bar are also optimally mechanically and electrically connected to the corresponding grounding terminals. The pair of locking arms may extend from two opposite side edges of the shielding plate or from two opposite end regions of the front edge of the shielding plate alternately.
