    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways and a plurality of contacts received therein. The housing includes opposite mating surface and mounting surface in the vertical direction. The contact includes an upstanding section retained in the passageway with a spring arm extending from an upper region of the upstanding plate and above the mating surface, and a mounting leg extending from a lower region of the upstanding plate around the mounting surface. The spring arm forms a contacting section around a free end thereof. One additional layer structure extends backwardly from a front end of the spring arm in a compressive folded manner and intimately abuts against the spring arm in the vertical direction.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways and a plurality of contacts received therein. The contact includes an upstanding section retained in the passageway with a spring am extending from an upper region of the upstanding plate and above the mating surface, and a mounting leg extending from a lower region of the upstanding plate around the mounting surface. The spring arm forms a contacting section around a free end thereof. The contact further includes an extension extending from the upstanding section and optimally above the mating surface so as to be located between the spring arm and the mating surface in the vertical direction. The extension and the spring arm are partially overlapped in the vertical direction and results in the capacitance effect therebetween, thus lowering impedance.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a terminal module including a base, a mating tongue, a row of first terminals, a row of second terminals and a shielding plate. Terminals comprise contacting portions, middle portions and leg portions. Each row of terminals comprises three pairs of differential signal terminals, and grounding terminals and power terminals. The shielding plate defines a first row of openings corresponding to the contacting portions, a second row of openings and third row of openings both corresponding to the middle portion. The first row of openings are aligned with the contacting portions of the first and second terminals in a vertical direction and the second row of openings are at least aligned with gaps between every two adjacent terminals while the shielding plate defines no opening corresponding to the middle portions of the three pair of differential signal terminals so as improve shielding performance.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing extending in a horizontal direction, a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the insulative housing, a metallic stiffener surrounding the insulative housing, a load plate pivotally mounted upon the metallic stiffener and moveable between an open position and a closed position, and a carrier frame used for retaining and receiving a central processing unit (CPU) and carrying the CPU to the insulative housing. After retaining the CPU, the carrier frame is mounted on the insulative housing along a vertical direction perpendicular to the horizontal direction. The load plate is rotated to the closed position to fix the CPU on the insulative housing.

    Abstract: An electrical assembly includes a system board and a power board closely arranged with each other in a parallel relation. An electronic package and a system connector are mounted upon an upper surface of the system board. A power connector and a set of connector units are mounted on an undersurface of the power board. Another set of connector units are formed on an upper surface of the electronic package. A heat sink is positioned upon the power board and contacts the electronic package via a center opening in the power board. After assembled, the power supply is provide through connection between the two sets of the connector units and that between the system connector and the power connector.

    Abstract: A pair of locking arms unitarily extends forwardly from opposite inner edges of the transverse bar in a perpendicular manner and are spaced from two opposite side edges of the shielding plate but abutting against the corresponding side edge of the tongue portion. A front end region of each locking arm further grasps a front edge of the tongue portion and optionally connected to the corresponding grounding terminals. The two opposite ends of the transverse bar are also optimally mechanically and electrically connected to the corresponding grounding terminals. The pair of locking arms may extend from two opposite side edges of the shielding plate or from two opposite end regions of the front edge of the shielding plate alternately.
