Abstract: A pressure fluid handling system includes a closed pressure fluid circuit. The pressure fluid circuit includes, connected in series, a compressor and a pressure sink and a primary pressure fluid route from the compressor to the pressure sink and a secondary pressure fluid route from the pressure sink to the compressor. The pressure fluid handling system further includes a pressure fluid accumulator connected to the pressure fluid circuit via a first pressure fluid accumulator conduit. The first pressure fluid accumulator conduit includes a pump configured to pump pressure fluid from the pressure fluid circuit to the pressure fluid accumulator to lower the pressure levels in the pressure fluid circuit, and in that the pressure fluid handling system includes a controllable component for returning the pressure fluid from the pressure fluid accumulator to the pressure fluid circuit to increase the pressure levels in the pressure fluid circuit.

Abstract: Disclosed is an actuator for axial displacement of an object, including a cylinder volume having a first portion, and an actuator piston disc displaceable in the axial direction in the cylinder volume between inactive and active positions, an inlet channel between a pressure fluid inlet and the first portion of the cylinder volume, a first inlet valve body in the inlet channel, an outlet channel between the first portion of the cylinder volume and a pressure fluid outlet, and an outlet valve body in the outlet channel. The slave piston is displaceable in a bore, the slave piston displacing the first inlet valve body to an active position, and interacting with an opening connecting the bore and a control pressure channel, the opening having a first flow area with the slave piston in its inactive position and a larger second flow area with the slave piston in its active position.

Abstract: A combustion engine includes, a first controllable engine valve (8) arranged to selectively open/close a combustion chamber (7) included in the combustion engine (1), and a gas handling system arranged to drive the first engine valve (8), which gas handling system includes a closed pneumatic pressure fluid circuit, wherein the closed pressure fluid circuit includes, coupled in series with each other, a compressor (31) and a valve actuator (10) that are operatively connected to the first engine valve (8). The combustion engine is characterized by the gas handling system further including a gas accumulator (38) that is connected with the closed pressure fluid circuit via at least one gas accumulator conduit (39), which includes a controllable valve (40). A gas handling system for pneumatic control of a valve actuator is also described.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes combustion chambers, each having a controllable intake valve controlling an intake port, a controllable exhaust valve controlling an exhaust port, a piston, and a fuel injector. An intake manifold is connected to the intake port of each chamber. In catalytic converter warm-up mode, each chamber is driven in four-stroke operation including a 720 crank angle degrees cycle, and opens the intake port, starting to open in 90-180 CAD, and fully closes the intake port in 180-270 CAD, opens the exhaust port during the power stroke, starting in 405-495 CAD, opens the intake port during the exhaust stroke, starting in 610-690 CAD, and fully closes the exhaust port during the exhaust stroke in 630-710 CAD. Exhaust gas is forced into the intake manifold by the piston, mixing fuel and exhaust in the intake manifold, and fully closes the intake port in 700 to 720+20 CAD.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes combustion chambers, each having a controllable intake valve opening and closing an intake port, a controllable exhaust valve opening and closing an exhaust port, a piston displaceable back and forth in the combustion chamber between a top dead center and a bottom dead center, and a fuel injector. The engine further including an intake manifold connected to the intake port of each combustion chamber. The engine can be operated in a low load mode, wherein each combustion chamber is driven in four-stroke operation including a 720 crank angle degrees cycle, and opens the intake port during the exhaust stroke, the intake port starting to open in 610-690 CAD, closing the exhaust port during the exhaust stroke, becoming fully closed in 630-710 CAD, forcing exhaust gas into the intake manifold by the piston, and mixing fuel and exhaust gas in the intake manifold.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes combustion chambers, each having a first intake port, and first and second exhaust ports. An intake manifold is connected to the first intake port of each combustion chamber, a main pressure booster upstream of the intake manifold. An exhaust discharge arrangement includes a main exhaust manifold connected to the first exhaust port of each combustion chamber, the exhaust discharge arrangement connected to the second exhaust port of a first subset combustion chambers, and an exhaust recirculation manifold connected to the second exhaust port of a second subset combustion chambers and connected to an upstream side of the main pressure booster. The engine operates in high load and low load modes, which vary how the engine evacuates the exhaust gas of the second subset combustion chambers to the exhaust recirculation manifold. A related method is also disclosed.

The combustion engine includes a cylinder head chamber that is included in the closed pressure fluid circuit and that is delimited by the cylinder head and a cylinder head mantle, by the valve actuator including a pneumatic pressure fluid circuit with an outlet opening that is in fluid communication with the cylinder head chamber, and by the cylinder head chamber including a hydraulic liquid drainage valve, wherein a drainage conduit stretches from the hydraulic liquid drainage valve to a hydraulic liquid vessel of the combustion engine for draining hydraulic liquid accumulated in the cylinder head chamber.

Abstract: A multi-way valve includes a control pressure channel, first and second control fluid channels, a valve body in the first and second control fluid channels, and an electrically controlled device having a drive member and an armature. The armature moves back and forth by the drive member between inactive and active positions. Movement of the armature from the inactive to the active position displaces the valve body arrangement to an active position, closing the first and opening the second control fluid channel is open. The electrically controlled device includes a drive body connected to the armature and a first spring member between the armature and the drive body. The valve body arrangement is biased towards the inactive position by a second spring member. The armature in the inactive position is biased towards the active position by a third spring member. Also disclosed is an actuator including the valve.
