Abstract: According to an aspect, a remote control device includes a display unit, an operation detecting unit, a reading unit, a control unit, and a code transmitting unit. The operation detecting unit detects an operation. The reading unit reads information used for remotely controlling an electrical device from the electrical device. The control unit causes the display unit to display a control screen used for remotely controlling the electrical device based on the information read by the reading unit. The code transmitting unit transmits a control code acquired based on the information read by the reading unit to the electrical device in response to an operation detected by the operation detecting unit while the control screen is displayed on the display unit.
