Abstract:
A multi-functional portable device that connects to and communicates with one or more modular units designed to provide different functionality. The multi-functional portable device of the present invention may communicate with a user computing device. The multi-functional portable device may be employed in various methods and systems used for interacting with and acquiring information from the surrounding environment.
Abstract:
A multiple dial lock includes reset dials rotatable around a lock shaft. Each reset dial must be at a specific angular position for a user to unlock the lock or reset the combination. Each reset dial has a magnet. A master key includes sensors, each in communication with one signal. Each of the signals indicates to a user that a respective magnet is adjacent a respective sensor, thus assisting a user in recovering a lost combination. A rotary lock includes a dial which rotates a drive cam, which in turn rotates several wheels to their unlocking positions. One magnet for each wheel is provided on the drive cam. Each magnet communicates with one sensor provided on a master key, which also includes signals, indicating that a respective magnet is adjacent a respective sensor, thus assisting a user in recovering a lost combination.
Abstract:
A pin tumbler lock of a first embodiment includes a shell containing top pins; and a plug, rotatable within the shell, containing standard bottom pins, and a shorter bottom pin, set back from the face of the plug. A tubular key has bitings corresponding to the standard bottom pins, and a projection corresponding to the short bottom pin. When the key is inserted, the bitings and the projection press all the bottom pins to the shear line. In a second embodiment, a lock includes a shell containing top pins and a depression; and a plug, rotatable within the shell, containing bottom pins. The depression is configured and dimensioned to receive one of the bottom pins. The depression may be opposite one of the bottom pins, and there may be one more bottom pin than top pins. When the key is inserted, the bottom pins are moved to the shear line.
Abstract:
Method of measuring the quantity of a first proteinaceous specific binding partner (sbp) in a biological sample comprising detecting the binding of the first proteinaceous sbp with a labeled second proteinaceous sbp, wherein neither the first or second sbp is an antibody or fragment thereof, which is preferably a method of determining the amount of sFlt-1, particularly free sFlt-1, and the amount of PlGF, particularly free PlGF, in a sample, which is preferably used in a method of predicting risk of preeclampsia comprising comparing free PlGF to free sFlt-1.
Abstract:
A modular device includes base and color sensing portions. The color sensing portion has a face, a controlled light source having a first channel between the light source and the face, and a color sensor arranged at a distal end of a second channel. The color sensor receives light reflected from the target surface and generates output signals representative of a surface color. The first and second channels extend at least 45 degrees apart from each other and respective to the face. The base portion communicates with the color sensor and a user interface enabling control input for the color sensor. The program further receives the output signals from the color sensing device and displays a first image of the detected color, and displays a second image of a user-selected color beside the first image. Color data values are further displayed corresponding to the difference between displayed colors.

Abstract:
Multi-channel IV therapies are achieved through the use of a single source infusion pump, which incorporates three rotary chambers. Each rotary chamber is composed of a base panel with the appropriate cavity for housing a rotor with three sets of rollers, plus tubing defined pathway going into and out of the rotor cavity. Components such as a knob and a sliding latch are incorporated into the inflow and outflow pathways on the base panel respectively to accommodate the installation and removal of anti-free flow disposable IV pump sets. These features also ensures that a properly installed anti-free flow IV pump set will remain secured in the base panel, even when mechanical impulses are experienced by the pump. The chamber tubing of the anti-free flow disposable IV pump set is composed of thin-walled rubber tubing that connects to an inflow stopcock and terminates through outflow clear connector. Fluid within the installed chamber tubing is pushed forward as the rotor rotates and its rollers roll and compress onto the rubber tubing against the wall of the cavity. A force sensor is incorporated in the inflow pathway on the base panel to detect upstream occlusion in the IV pump set, and an air detection system is incorporated in the outflow pathway on the base panel to detect the presence of air within clear connector.
Abstract:
A network device comprises first and second transceivers configured to aid communication between a plurality of networked devices; first and second communication medium connections in communication with the first and second transceivers, and capable of receiving first and second communication media, respectively; and a sliding door, said sliding door retained between an upper sliding track and a lower sliding track such that said sliding door covers one of said first and second connection while exposing the other of said first and second connection.
Abstract:
A system and method for graphically organizing information. A representation of an item to which the information relates is provided, and one or more points are superimposed on the representation to indicate areas of the item that correspond to the information. The points correspond to coordinates within a reference frame that is used to delineate positions on the representation.
