Abstract:
A compact waterproof lighting assembly includes a circuit board having a battery, a light, a switching circuit and a push button switch selectively powering the light with the battery via the switching circuit. The waterproof lighting assembly can be coupled to fishing tackle to attract fish to a fish bait. The light can be provided by a light emitting diode emitting light in any one of a number of colors or emitting ultraviolet or infrared light. The use of light emitting diodes emitting light in the ultraviolet spectrum had been found to be particularly useful for attracting fish to fish bait and birds to decoys.
Abstract:
A lightweight plastic baton includes a hollow cylindrical body which telescopically supports a flexible cylindrical plastic baton shaft. One or more slideways support and concentrically center the baton shaft within the hollow body. A flashlight having a strobed light operating mode is coupled to the baton body to provide a less than lethal deterrent to a potential assailant. A radially movable elastic switch cover is mounted substantially flush with the outer surface of the flashlight to prevent inadvertent actuation of one of several selectable flashlight operating modes.
Abstract:
A flashlight is provided with an end cap which carries an axially-actuated switch for turning the flashlight on and off with a convenient one-handed operation. The switch is designed with a latching function and a mode selection function which can be cycled through high, low and strobed light outputs with a partial throw of the switch. Cut-out portions are provided in the end cap for guiding a user's finger toward the switch and away from the sidewalls of the end cap.
Abstract:
The performance of chemical glow lights is enhanced by the provision of a battery-powered light-emitting diode (LED). The LED can be provided inside a pouch containing chemicals which, when mixed together, produce a glowing light. Multiple pouches can be provided in strip form as well as in individual form with varying shapes and sizes. Surfaces coated with light-activated photochemicals can be illuminated with one or more LEDs thereby causing such surfaces to produce a chemical glow for extended periods of time.
Abstract:
A layered lighting assembly includes a circuit board having a battery, a light, a switching circuit and a push button switch selectively powering the light with the battery via the switching circuit. The circuit board is protected from vibration and impact with a relatively soft compressible foam layer provided adjacent the circuit board. A semi-rigid protective sheet of flexible plastic is layered over or layered adjacent to the circuit board to resist bending and flexing of the circuit board and thereby further protect the circuitry.
Abstract:
An alarm system includes a battery-powered base unit having an audible alarm, a switched constant on constant off light which can be used as a flashlight, and a strobed light providing a visible position indicator. The audible alarm and strobed light are activated simultaneously upon the release of a pull pin from a pair of electrical contacts within the base unit. The strobed light can be visible or infrared. A trip line can be connected to the pull pin to provide a secure line of entry or a secured enclosed area.

Abstract:
A multifunction flashlight includes an audio recorder, a video recorder and a flashlight having one or more operating modes. The flashlight includes an audio microphone secured within a water-tight interior compartment in the body of the flashlight. A storage compartment is provided in a rear portion of the flashlight for removably storing one or more light diffuser caps which are selectively mountable over the flashlight lens. A port in the wall of the flashlight can be opened to improve audio reception and sensitivity of a microphone housed within the flashlight. A resilient switch cover is provided with two or more differently textured surface portions to allow an operator to identify an audio, video or lighting function by tactile feel or touch. A delay circuit can be provided to protect the audio and/or video functions from in advertent or unintentional actuation.
