Abstract: Image capture devices and methods may be used to pre-buffer media storage. The pre-buffering method includes recording an image capture segment of a variable bitrate input stream in a circular buffer. The circular buffer includes a number of recordable segments. The method includes recording a next image capture segment in a next adjacent recordable segment of the circular buffer if the next adjacent recordable segment of the predetermined number of recordable segments is available. The method includes overwriting an oldest recordable segment if the next adjacent recordable segment of the predetermined number of recordable segments is not available.

The image processor is configured to determine a motion estimation. The motion estimation is based on a comparison of a portion of the first image and a portion of the second image. The image processor is configured to subtract a mask from the second image to obtain a denoised image. The mask is based on the motion estimation. The video encoder is configured to receive the denoised image from the image processor. The video encoder is configured to encode the denoised image in a video format. The video encoder is configured to output a video file in the video format.

Abstract: Cameras may monitor its operation and automatically switch between operation modes thereby to best capture users' experiences. Auxiliary sensor data collected by the one or more sensors and/or captured image data may be analyzed to determine when a camera should switch to a different operation mode. The auxiliary sensor data and/or the content of the captured images may include motion information indicating whether the camera or the captured scene has relatively high-motion, relatively low-motion, or no motion. Event(s) may be detected by analyzing the auxiliary sensor data and/or analyzing captured image data, and preferred operation mode(s) suitable for capturing the events can be determined. Each preferred operation mode may be associated with a confidence value. A camera may switch to a preferred operation mode for capturing an event if the event is determined with high confidence to take place at a time point.

Abstract: A pipeline video system is capable of transmitting rate adapted video. The pipeline video system receives a first video stream in real time from a camera at a first frame rate; receiving data link layer transmission statistics of a wireless interface. The system also generates a second video stream with a second frame rate from the first video stream by dropping one or more video frames of the first video stream based on the data link layer transmission statistics. Based on encoding parameters determined based on the data link layer transmission statistics, the system encodes the second video stream. The encoded second video stream is transmitted to the wireless interface for transmission.
