    Abstract: A device for driving a backlight assembly of a display device includes: a block division unit for dividing the input image into plural blocks and a duty cycle determination unit. The duty cycle determination unit is used for: generating a histogram of gray levels of pixels of each block; obtaining a high gray level and a median gray level of each block according to the histogram; obtaining a high gray quantity based on the high gray level and a median gray quantity of the median gray level of each block according to the histogram; obtaining a weight value of each block according to the high gray level, the high gray quantity, the median gray quantity, and a lookup table; and calculating a duty cycle of a driving signal of each block according to the weight value, the high gray level, and the median gray level.

    Abstract: A polarity compensation device and a polarity compensation method are provided. The polarity compensation device includes a variance calculation circuit and a compensation calculation circuit. The variance calculation circuit calculates a difference value between current sub-pixel data and previous sub-pixel data in the same frame period, wherein the current sub-pixel data and the previous sub-pixel data belong to the same data line of a display panel. The compensation calculation circuit converts the difference value into a function value. The compensation calculation circuit decides to increase or decrease the current sub-pixel data by the function value according to a polarity corresponding to the same frame period, so as to generate compensated sub-pixel data.

    Abstract: A luminance control circuit and a luminance control method are provided. The luminance control circuit includes a first converter, average pixel level (APL) calculator, a luminance adjusting circuit and a second converter. The first converter converts a gray level result of an image data into at least one luminance. The APL calculator generates an APL value according to the at least one luminance. The luminance adjusting circuit generates at least one adjusting value according to the APL value and adjust the at least one luminance to be at least one adjusted luminance using the least one adjusting value. The second converter converts the at least one adjusted luminance into an adjusted gray level result of the image data. The adjusted gray level result is negative correlated with the APL value.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a compensating circuit for overdriving a data signal of display device. The compensating circuit includes a memory circuit, an offsetting circuit and an overdriving value generator. The memory circuit stores a first offset gray value of a first frame period. The offsetting circuit receives the first offset gray value, a duty value of an emission driving signal and a current gray value of the data signal. The offsetting circuit generates a second offset gray value of a second frame period according to the duty value, the current gray value and the first offset gray value, and stores the second offset gray value into the memory circuit. The overdriving value generator generates an overdriving value for overdriving the data signal to generate a compensated data signal according to the second offset gray value and the current gray value.

    Abstract: The invention provides a driving circuit of a display panel and an operation method thereof. The driving circuit includes a calculation circuit and an edge processing circuit. The calculation circuit converts original image frame data into first image frame data for driving a first pixel array layer and second image frame data for driving a second pixel array layer. The edge processing circuit converts the second image frame data into third image frame data. The edge processing circuit performs an edge detection on a current pixel in the second image frame data to determine whether the current pixel belongs to an image edge. The edge processing circuit determines whether to adjust a gray level of an adjacent pixel in the second image frame data as the gray level of the adjacent pixel in the third image frame data according to a result of the edge detection.
