    Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to a method and apparatus for wireless charging station. In one embodiment, the disclosure provides an overlapping (or tiled) layout of a plurality of coils. Each coil may have a symmetric or an asymmetric turn layout. The disclosure also provides design optimization techniques configured to determine the optimal tile overlap distance and/or coil size to provide a substantially uniform electro-magnetic field over the surface of the wireless charging station.

    Abstract: An apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a transmission coil and a power amplifier. The power amplifier includes a microcontroller and a memory. The memory includes instructions to determine electric current output of the power amplifier, perform a lookup of load reactance range based on target electric current, detect load impedance, calculate reactance based on the load impedance, determine if reactance is within the load reactance range, and adjust reactance shift compensation to bring the reactance within the load reactance range if the reactance is not within the load reactance range.

    Abstract: Techniques for wireless transmitting power are described. An example power transmitting unit includes a magnetic resonance-type transmit coil array comprising a plurality of coil elements, wherein each coil element is tuned to a same resonant frequency. The power transmitting unit also includes a power generating circuitry to deliver current to the transmit coil array to wirelessly power a device within an active wireless charging area of at least one of the plurality of coil elements. Each coil element exhibits a plurality of zero point distances and the spacing between neighboring coil elements corresponds with the plurality of zero point distances.
