    Abstract: According to one embodiment, an electro-optical device comprises a flexible first substrate and a flexible second substrate which include an electro-optical area, a drive area in the first substrate with terminals formed in the drive area, an external drive circuit connected to the terminals, conductive lines extending from the terminals to the electro-optical area side, and a first resin film overlapping the conductive lines. Further, a gap is formed between the first resin film and the second substrate in planar view.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes an active-element substrate. The active-element substrate includes a display area, a non-display area, an image signal line, an active element including a scanning line and connected to the image signal line, a driving circuit, a common electrode, a first electrode electrically connected to the common electrode and provided in the non-display area, and a second electrode the voltage of which is lower than that of the common electrode, and which is provided in the non-display area. At least part of the second electrode is provided in a different position from that of the first electrode as seen in plan view. The scanning line is provided below the first electrode.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, a detection apparatus includes: an optical sensor including a sensor base member and a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements that are provided on the sensor base member and each of which is configured to output a signal corresponding to light emitted to the photoelectric conversion element; and a lighting device including a plurality of first light-emitting elements configured to emit first light having a first maximum emission wavelength and a plurality of second light-emitting elements configured to emit second light having a second maximum emission wavelength. Each of the photoelectric conversion elements has responsivity in a wavelength region including a wavelength region of the first light and a wavelength region of the second light.

    Abstract: The structure of the invention is: a pair of a first scanning line and a second scanning line extend in a first direction on the TFT substrate, a first pixel that has a first pixel electrode and a second pixel that as a second pixel electrode are formed between the pairs of the scanning lines, a connection area is formed between the first scanning line and the second scanning line; a first TFT, a first through hole that connects the first TFT with the first pixel electrode, and a second TFT, a second through hole that connects the second TFT with the second pixel electrode are formed in the connection area; the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are formed on an organic passivation film; the organic passivation film is not formed in an area where the first through hole and the second through hole are formed.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device is configured to prevent the appearance on its display of a black stain stemming from a drop in volume resistivity of liquid crystal caused by ions therein. The device includes a thin-film transistor (TFT) substrate and a counter substrate bonded together along the periphery thereof by a seal material. The TFT substrate and the counter substrate have liquid crystal sandwiched therebetween and include a display region. A third electrode is formed outside the display region of the TFT substrate. A concave portion is formed in an organic insulation film on the liquid crystal side of the third electrode.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate includes a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel, a first line and a second line extending between the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel with a gap therebetween, and a first alignment film as an outermost layer. The second substrate includes a second alignment film opposed to the first alignment film. Further, the first substrate includes a groove in which the first alignment has a recessed surface between the first line and the second line, and the groove is filled with the liquid crystal layer.
